Rumer Willis reveals Demi Moore and Bruce Willis are 'so excited' to welcome 'first' grandchild
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Guess who are excited to become grandparents for the first time? The ‘Die Hard’ star Bruce Willis and his ex-wife ‘Indecent Proposal’ star Demi Moore. As the eldest daughter of Willis, Rumer Willis is all set to welcome her first baby with partner Derek Richard Thomas, the grandparents have proven to be a storehouse of knowledge.
In a recent interview, Rumer candidly said, "[My parents] are so excited. My sisters are so excited, and it's so fun to be bringing in the first grandkid in our family, especially because we're such a huge group at this point," referring to the blended Willis-Moore family consisting of Bruce Willis (68); his three daughters with first wife Demi Moore (60) - Rumer (34), Scout (31) and Tallulah (29); Bruce’s current wife Emma Heming Willis (44) and their two daughters Mabel(11) and Evelyn (eight).

Rumer, in the collaborative interview with PEOPLE, revealed that her parents, who are becoming grandparents for the first time, have given her the best advice, which she says is, "You have no control over anything, and just have a lot of grace with yourself.”
‘Reverence and respect for women’
Rumer, who announced her pregnancy in December 2022, has revealed the experience has been humbling and added that "I have so much reverence and respect for women now. I feel I've had an easier time physically than most of my friends.” She further revealed, "Also, because I'm so excited, even those moments that are challenging, or feel frustrating, I'm just so excited, that always kind of trumps [everything]... But, it's wild. It's the wildest experience, even more so than I ever thought of."
‘An angel’
It is not known exactly when the expecting parents, Rumer and Derek Richard Thomas started dating. The duo became social media official in November 2022. In December 2022, the couple shared a post through which they announced their pregnancy.
Talking about Derek, Rumer said the would-be father has been nothing but “an angel” during her pregnancy. She further added, "He's been so lovely, and he's just so excited to be a dad, and we're both just so delighted to meet whoever this little person is," before continuing "I could not have asked for a better partner, and he's going to be such a great dad."
The first-time mother who is basking in the glow of late pregnancy talked about her baby too. She said, "I just can't wait to meet them," and mused "I'm just so delighted. I feel sometimes I can just feel the energy of this kid sometimes, and I just can't wait to hear them laugh, to figure out who they are, play with them and get to know them."
‘To do it unmedicated’
The ‘Sorority’ star has recently revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that “I think it was always my plan to do it unmedicated. That's how my mom did it, and I grew up knowing that. That was always just a part of what I wanted to create. But I think it's so individual.” She also opened up about the lesson that she has learned during the process, saying, “The biggest lesson I've learned so far, during this transition to motherhood, is about surrender so ideally, I'm planning for a home birth, but if at any point someone was like, "It's a little risky, or maybe not," then I'd be like, cool, let's adapt and change.”
Family is her support system
She also revealed that her family has been her support system all over. "We're so goofy, all of us, and just weird. We're a family of weirdos, and I love that so much. I really hope that that is engendered in this child, just the silliness and goofiness. I think my mom had that. My dad had that. My sisters... That's my favorite thing. Laughing with my family. I have a crazy laugh and so does my partner, so I'm actually probably the most curious to see what it sounds like," shared the eldest Willis.
A few days ago, when the expectant mother was feeling low and wasn't "feeling good," she received a visit from mother Demi Moore and sisters Scout and Tallulah.
In March, all the women of the Willis-Moore family attended Rumer's baby shower to celebrate her motherhood.
