Demi Lovato has battled her mental demons for years and was finally in a happy space with her boyfriend Max Ehrich. Dating since early March this year, their love grew stronger after he popped the question in Malibu back in July and Demi couldn't help but flaunt her expensive emerald Peter Marco engagement ring. The 28-year-old singer and 29-year-old actor now seem to have hit the brakes on their whirlwind romance.

A source close to the couple told People: "It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers," adding, "They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together." This comes in the wake of rumors that Max sent "thirsty messages" to Selena Gomez, as per The Sun. A series of tweets from when he was a teenager started circulating online where he said he thought Selena was "prettier" than Demi.

While fans first exposed her partner on social media, they soon got together and started a worldwide trend "Demi Is Loved Party" on Twitter. If word of mouth is to be believed, the singer was so overcome by emotion that she took to her Instagram to thank one of her fans for the gesture.

From calling her "confident" to "talented" and saying "she deserves all the happiness in the world," fans just couldn't stop talking about her. "Finally a trending topic on Twitter that I agree with, "DEMI IS LOVED PARTY" ~ Demi Lovato is someone I look up to and has helped me feel more confident in myself," one tweet read and another said, "This woman has been through so much, she deserves all the happiness this world has to give! DEMI IS LOVED PARTY."

Reiterating the same sentiment, one fan posted: "Demi Lovato has been through so much, she's extremely talented, has done so much good with her platform, is one of the most genuine and real celebrities yet gets crucified for past mistakes and hold to ridiculous standards. this woman deserves so much more." Another said, "Demi Lovato has one of the most beautiful smiles in the world DEMI IS LOVED PARTY."

Well, it seems the singer took note of the trend and sent a thank you note to a fan on Instagram. Several screenshots of her message could be seen circulating on social media. "Demi sent a message to a fan on Instagram! She knows that we trended "DEMI IS LOVED PARTY"!" one tweet read and another said, "She saw a reply to this tweet 5 times with DEMI IS LOVED PARTY."

Amid the shocking news, all we can hope is for the singer to find joy and get through the troubled times.
