Demi Lovato cancels rest of 'Tell me You Love Me' world tour to focus on her recovery and rehab
The cancelation of the shows is probably a result of Lovato's overdose on July 24 when she was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after she was found unconscious at home
Demi Lovato has canceled the rest of her world tour which included the remaining shows in Mexico and South America after deciding to prioritize her health. She is supposed to be in treatment for quite some time and, as the press release by Lotus Production informs, she "is focusing on her recovery".
Lovato was supposed to perform on September 20 and 22 in Mexico, along with a six-city tour including Chile, Argentina, and Brazil in November. The cancelation of the shows is probably a result of Lovato's overdose on July 24 when she was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after she was found unconscious at her home. She was reportedly treated with Narcan in order to reverse the effects of the narcotic overdose. She was released almost two weeks after the incident, on August 4, and is now expected to remain under treatment for an extended period of time.
A few days ago Lovato had posted on Instagram, admitting to fighting her addictions. “I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction,” she said. “What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet. … I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”
After celebrating almost six years of sobriety, she finally had a relapse which she highlighted in her latest song 'Sober'. According to a source who spoke to US Weekly, "She would only maintain sobriety for a few days at a time before relapsing...She refused to go back to treatment [before her overdose].” Lovato has apparently lost touch with her former life coach, Mike Bayer, with whom she was reported to have been close. She fired her long-term sober coach weeks before she suffered the shock 'overdose'

The source said, "They are no longer in any communication, and haven’t been for over four months. Yes, Demi relapsed, but she doesn’t have any plans to include Mike in her sobriety...Demi was really beating herself up for relapsing, but is working the AA program again, and actively working the steps, something she hadn’t been doing while in sobriety with Mike.”
Speaking to People, a source had said: “Demi is well enough to leave the hospital this weekend. She has agreed to rehab and will go straight to an in-patient facility. It’s her choice to go to rehab. This is not anything that can be forced.”
“She understands the severity of her overdose and the recovery has been very challenging for her,” the source added. “She wants to be sober. She wants to get help. She understands that it will take a lot of work and commitment to stay healthy, but this is what she wants.”
