It is going to be doubly special for Demi Lovato when the singer takes the stage for her 62nd Annual Grammy Awards performance on January 26. Not only is it Music's Biggest Night, but it will also be the 27-year-old's first live musical performance since suffering a drug-related overdose in July 2018.

The 'Sober' singer has been on the mend since then and will be marking the special occasion with the premiere of an extra-special (unnamed) new song — one that is closely connected to her horrific ordeal from a couple of years ago.

It is being reported that the brand-new track that Demi has chosen to sing at Sunday's award show was actually written and recorded barely four days before her overdose in 2018, and the song's lyrics also reflect her state of mind during that tumultuous time in her life.

Clearly, it is going to be an intense, cathartic and deeply personal experience for the singer and her fans, so you might want to keep a box of tissues handy — just in case!

A source has also confirmed that Lovato's new track will be a "big ballad style" tune, and would fulfill a promise that Demi made to herself way back in 2018.

While recovering in hospital in the months that followed her harrowing overdose experience, the singer vowed that this would be the first song she would perform at a big venue if she ever got the chance to do so again.

Well, a momentous comeback opportunity has finally come knocking, so you can be sure that the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer is going to grab this chance with both hands!

"As painful as it is to be reminded and to relive, she doesn't want to forget," a close friend of Demi's revealed. "The songs are extremely raw and emotional for her. It's going to be a big moment for her to share with the world and open herself up like this."

Her pal added that the tracks on Lovato's upcoming album this year were written before her drug overdose and that this new song would also be included on the record.

In even better news, it is also being reported that after Sunday's performance, Lovato's freshly unveiled song will be made available to the public as a new single off her upcoming album.

We can't wait to experience it live on January 26! Lovato will also be singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV on February 2, so make sure you tune in to that too!
