The current five-member band was formed in 1988 but they had released their first studio album in 1995. Coming back to Deftones' new album, we are sure you must be digging a lot of information. Don’t worry, we have got you covered. Here is all the information you have been looking:
Release date
Deftones' ninth studio album 'Ohms' will hit the Internet on September 25, 2020, via Reprise Records which is owned by the giant music label Warner Records.
Concept
The cover art of the album 'Ohms' is very minimal which we rarely get to see in genres like rock and metal. According to the publication Kerrang, the classy cover was designed by Frank Maddocks, the band’s art director of 20 years. The group had first teased the cover art of 'Ohms' on a gigantic Billboard in Los Angeles ahead of the record's official announcement.
According to the Kerrang report, Deftone frontman Chino Moreno spoke about his album earlier and said, "We're a little bit in that mode where we're just trying completely different ways of doing things. And, that’s what keeps it fun for us for the most part. Not really knowing what's going to become of this or what type of record we’re making, just letting it kind of happen. It's been good on that level. That's the best way I can describe where we're at, and where we're going."
Tracklist
'Ohms' will keep fans on their toes with 10 songs. Here is what the official tracklist looks like:
'Genesis'
'Ceremony'
'Urantia'
'Errorr'
'The Spell Of Mathematics'
'Pompeji'
'This Link Is Dead'
'Radiant City'
'Headless'
'Ohms'
'Ohms', which is the last track listed in the new record, was the first to hit the internet. Talking about the song, Moreno had told NME magazine earlier, "As the last song on the record, it's kind of sung in retrospect – it's looking back not just at the batch of songs that come before it, but our lives and our surroundings. The verses are reflecting, but the chorus kind of says, 'Yes this, but this' – it's saying that time will change with the decisions we make. It's a question and an answer."
