Spoilers for 'Dear Christmas'

2020 has taught us a lot. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic disrupted lives across the globe and the year, so far, has been challenging than ever. Nevertheless, Christmas is only a few weeks away and it's time to meet with your dear and near ones to make some memories. What could make your holiday experience better than a movie about love, life and everything in between?

With 'Dear Christmas', Lifetime brings to us the story of Natalie Morgan (Melissa Joan Hart), who has many hearts and a huge fanbase through her podcast 'Holiday Love', helping people find and understand love. Even though she is quite the queen of the realm of romance, Natalie somehow has never experienced true love. For the Christmas holidays, she plans to visit her parents and pregnant baby sister back home. While her stay at her childhood home brings back some of the sweetest memories and Natalie starts to rejoice little joys of life, her family is desperate to find a suitable man for her.

Natalie finds herself in a rather tough situation when she realizes that the second episode for her podcast needs to go live on Christmas Eve while she's yet to figure a true story to share with her listeners. In the pursuit of truth and true love, she starts to grow close to Chris (Jason Priestley), a multi-dimensional personality whose charm Natalie finds hard to resist. A mutual passion for travel, childhood experiences and common interests form a special bond between Natalie and Chris, who couldn't go without each other's company. But, have they found the love of their lives in each other? You need to watch the movie to know what destiny had in store for Natalie and Chris.

'Dear Christmas' makes for a delightful watch, thanks to its representation of some of the joyous moments in the form of little things. Be it about sharing a cookie and some hot cocoa with your family or taking a walk on a winter evening with your sibling, the holiday movie shows offers a different perception about life and human relationships. The other factor that adds up to its appeal is the portrayal of the relationship between a middle-aged couple, which is often looked at differently. The film tries to normalize the idea of diversity and inclusivity in romance and it deserves to be credited for the same.

Melissa Joan Hart breathes life into character as a celebrity podcaster, lovable daughter and sister. The rest of the cast has delivered a noteworthy performance as well. Overall, 'Dear Christmas' is light-hearted and cheerful that can be watched by all sorts of audiences as it steers clear of unnecessary drama, sugar-coated romance, or forced humor.

'Dear Christmas' premieres on Friday, November 27, at 8 pm ET on Lifetime.
