Actor Ian Ziering who will be seen in a recurring role in DC Universe's upcoming series 'Swamp Thing' shared the first teaser of the show on his Instagram handle. The actor who will be seen portraying the role of Hollywood has-been Daniel Cassidy, a.k.a. the Blue Devil in the show captioned the video, "Try draining this Swamp, I dare you."

The teaser gives us a fleeting glimpse of the titular character, played by Derek Mears who was last seen in Marvel’s 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D'. The creature looks like a giant ball of moss with scary glowing red eyes as it snorts.

The show's order was reduced on April 17 to 10 episodes said the Hollywood Reporter quoting a source. Reportedly, the original 13-episode order has been cut down to 10 episodes as a result of creative differences with Warner Bros. backed streaming platform, yet the show will air on May 31 as planned.

'Swamp Thing' takes us back to the time when horror in a macabre setting used to be the 'in-thing', take Alan Moore’s '80s version of this creature for instance. Andy Bean will play the role of scientist Alec Holland who transforms into the Swamp Thing. Crystal Reed will play the role of CDC researcher Abby Arcane, Jennifer Beale will play the role of Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Will Patton will appear as Avery Sunderland, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, and Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu in the upcoming show.

The show is written by Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman and follows the journey Abby takes as "she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe" according to the official synopsis. The show is based on the DC Comics character of the same name written by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson and it can be streamed on DC Universe subscription streaming service.
