Dawn Landes has released ‘Traveling’, the second single from her forthcoming album ‘Meet Me At The River’ out on September 14.

The twelve-song collection follows a move from NYC to Nashville, and comes from an unexpected partnership with Nashville legend Fred Foster, whose list of production credits includes Roy Orbison’s 'Hey Pretty Woman,' Dolly Parton’s debut album and Kris Kristofferson’s first #1 ‘Jesus Was A Capricorn’. Dawn has previously collaborated with the likes of Sufjan Stevens, Norah Jones and Nico Muhly.

'Traveling' sees the Landes follow a carefree whim from a morning in New York to sunset at Graceland through a Dr. John-soundtracked night on the town in New Orleans; a breezy celebration of life on the open road when there’s nothing – and nobody – holding you back.

While not purely autobiographical, Landes’ forthcoming ‘Meet Me At The River’ was presaged by a move from New York to Nashville and an open embrace of the city’s musical roots. 'Traveling' and the rest of ‘Meet Me At The River,’ represents a bold turn from Landes’ previous work – which has included collaborations with Sufjan Stevens, Norah Jones and Nico Muhly.

Landes’ travels to Nashville are also where she met Foster, who was pulled out of semi-retirement by
Landes’ heart-wrenching vocals and expressive songwriting, forming a partnership that would bring ‘Meet Me At The River’ to life.

Foster recruited a top-shelf crew of Nashville studio musicians for the 'River' sessions: 13-time Academy of Country Music drummer of the year Eddie Bayers, fellow Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie McCoy on harmonica, and ‘From Elvis In Memphis’ pianist Bobby Wood among them. Foster even recruited Bobby Bare, with 70 hits on the country charts in a five-decade career, to duet with Landes on her original 'I Don't Dance.'

'Traveling' and 'I Don’t Dance' are among ten Landes originals on ‘Meet Me At The River'. The full album is available for pre-order now.

Landes will also be bringing ‘Meet Me At The River’ to life during a string of intimate shows in Nashville, Los Angeles and New York around release, followed by a string of intimate shows in the UK & Ireland this October. Check out the dates below.
