'Cruella': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and everything you need to know about Disney's live-action '101 Dalmations' spin-off
While the movie is still in pre-production, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming live-action prequel to '101 Dalmations' set in the 1980s
Cruella is a household name we all grew up with, especially if you've watched '101 Dalmations'. And now the Disney fashion icon-turned-villain is back with her own live-action remake by Glenn Close.
Disney's live-action spin-off of the '101 Dalmatians' will narrate the story of how Curella became the devil of a woman that we have a love-hate feeling for. While the movie is still in pre-production and has around a year to be released in theatres, here's everything you need to know about 'Cruella':
'Cruella' will be released in theatres on December 23, 2020.
Currently, there is no particular plot that has been revealed for the forthcoming movie. All that Disney has mentioned is that it would be "a live-action prequel feature film following a young Cruella de Vil". And according to Hollywood Reporter, the story will be set in the early 1980s and will have a "punk vibe" to it.
Recently it was revealed that Oscar winner and 'La La Land' actress Emma Stone will be playing the role of Cruella. Famed actress Emma Thompson will also be joining the cast in the movie, but her role has not been revealed yet. Maybe she will play the older version of Cruella during the time of the '101 Dalmations'. Thompson is no new face, as she is known for her role as Nanny Mcphee in the movie of the same name, and for the role of Mrs. Potts in 'Beauty and the Beast'. It was also confirmed that Paul Walter Hauser has been cast for the role of Rodger in the movie.
Craig Gillespie is a film, television, and commercial director. He is best known for his films 'Lars and the Real Girl', the 'Fright Night' remake, and 'I, Tonya'. Gillespie also won a Golden Lion Award at Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival in 2005.
There is no trailer that has been released for the movie yet, but be sure to check this space often as we will update it once the trailer is released.
