'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 3: Arrowverse establishes The Anti-Monitor as supreme evil by killing 3 major pillars of DCU
This article contains spoilers for 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Part 3
The 'Crisis' had enough superheroes in its roster and of the many were four Kryptonians. Tyler Hoechlin, who's essayed Superman in the 'Supergirl' series for the past few years was back in the fold, Brandon Routh, the Superman on the big screen in 2006's 'Superman Returns', donned the suit of the Kingdom Come Superman. Tom Welling appeared as Smallville's Clark Kent. He continued the story that ended eight years ago.
And now, as painful as it may sound, none of these three characters have made it out alive in their battle against The Anti-Monitor as shown in Part 3. Hoechlin's Superman sacrificed himself to save the Paragons, Smallville's Kent was a victim of the anti-matter wave (plus he had relinquished his powers), and lastly, Routh's the Earth-96 Kingdom Come Superman, who was one of the Paragons, was usurped by Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) on the Vanishing Point. This leaves Kara (Melissa Benoist) as the last survivor of Krypton.
While it does appear that these characters are dead for the time being, it remains to be seen how they all reappear when the multiverse collapses to form a single universe. In a way, this is also the Arrowverse' way of establishing the Anti-Monitor as one of the greatest villains it has shown so far in all of its shows. For now, the hopes of defeating the evil entity rests on the Paragons.
