'Creed III' star Jonathan Majors CHARGED with multiple counts of assault and harassment after arrest
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: ‘Creed III’ star Jonathan Majors has landed himself in a controversy that could turn out to be devastating for his acting career and things just keep on getting worse with each passing day. On Saturday, March 25, the actor was arrested in New York on charges of assault and harassment after being involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman. Since then, his representative has been doing everything to make the actor look innocent in front of the public, but the documents from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office show that Majors has been charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment two days after he was taken into custody.
The entire cinema industry was shocked when they heard the news of Majors getting arrested by the New York City police after the authorities responded to an emergency 911 call from the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan. Several reports indicated that the victim endured minor injuries to her head and neck and was taken to a medical facility. However, everyone wanted to know if Majors would be “legally” charged by the authorities in this and it seems all is not well in Majors’ paradise.
According to the court documents obtained by Variety, it is confirmed that the ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ star has been charged with three counts of assault in the third degree, aggravated harassment in the second degree, three counts of attempted assault in the third degree and one count of harassment in the second degree, after his arrest on Saturday.

Victim suffered bruises and substantial pain, as per the complaint
In her complaint, the unnamed accuser has claimed that Majors “strike her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.” The documents also reveal that the actor put his hand on her neck which caused “bruising and substantial pain.”
The actor’s criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, has vehemently denied all the allegations and made it clear that her client is “innocent.” She also noted that she and her team are “gathering and presenting evidence” to the District Attorney’s office so that all the charges get dropped “imminently.” She added, “This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations.”
As per The Associated Press, Major is scheduled to appear in court on May 8.
Is this a huge setback for Majors' career?
This is a huge setback for Majors’ rising career and he might face a lot of problems in finding work until he clears his name from this case. The U.S. Army has already pulled recruitment ads featuring Majors after the actor’s arrest and his name has been omitted from the organization’s official channels. Majors has been a force to be reckoned with in recent few years and made a name for himself in the industry with his impeccable acting.
He rose to fame with the independent feature film ‘The Last Black Man in San Francisco’ in 2019, and garnered wider recognition with HBO’s ‘Lovecraft Country’ in 2020, for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination. The actor joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021 with the TV series ‘Loki’ and made his MCU feature film debut with this year’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’. On the other hand, his performance in the recently released ‘Creed III’ received universal acclaim and many touted him as the next big thing in Hollywood.
The actor would have to come out innocent in this case in order to keep his professional career intact.
