Couple's first encounter
Although they were married in the early 2000s, they initially met in 1987 while they were both working at the same recording studio. Both of them were still married to their first spouses at the time, but Garth was aware that he had already met his future wife when he saw Trisha. Eventually, they got well acquainted by building a beautiful friendship together. Despite having been married for 13 years, Garth claimed on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show' that he knew the moment he met Trisha that she was going to be his wife.
Trisha told CloserWeekly, "Because we were each married before and we've been friends a long time, you might know some things you might not tell somebody you're dating, so it's a blessing and a curse — he knows everything about me." Garth retired from music in 2000, in order to spend more time with his three daughters and then-wife, Sandy. He did, however, quickly divorce her. Robert Reynolds was Trisha's second husband, whom she had married after divorcing her first husband, and also got a divorce from him. Trisha and Garth made their first public appearance at the 33rd Annual Songwriter's Hall of Fame Awards Induction, which was held in New York City in 2002.
Garth and Trisha got engaged in 2005, three years later. Their romance was envied by people all across the world. The pair tied the knot in a formal ceremony in December 2005, and they have been happily married ever since.
How did Trisha support Garth during one of his darkest moments?
In 2000, Garth announced his retirement from the music industry and moved in full-time with his daughters. The girls were then eight, six, and four years old, and he said that by living with "three strange women," he soon learned everything there was to know about girls. He admitted that it was a difficult time for him and that he had trouble adjusting to his new life. It became even more challenging once his first marriage ended in divorce. He claimed that Trisha was his "light at the end of the tunnel," though. He acknowledged that when Trisha entered his life as a love partner, he felt as though he had a best friend who could support him through all of his ups and downs. Trisha did it joyfully because she is "madly in love" with Garth, as per Closerweekly.
Trisha gushed while discussing how she felt about her relationships with her two ex-husbands and with Garth. She said, "Now I understand why other stuff didn't work because this is what was meant to be. We hike, we cook, we just like to be together." She added that their years of friendship have kept them strong because she respects and understands her husband as a friend and partner, as per the news outlet.
