By now, you've probably adjusted to the humdrum quarantine life and are staying put at home in the wake of this global coronavirus pandemic. We're all putting on our best plucky smiles and are carrying on with our lives via a host of flashing, blinking apps, despite that lingering feeling of dread, dissatisfaction, and disconnection. We're busy fighting off the restless urges that make us want to run out into the deserted streets and paint the town red with our friends. If you're nodding along, we do hope you're coping adequately in the midst of this COVID-19 crisis. Are the storm clouds steadily gathering overhead? Is your mood getting cloudy and the sky turning grey? Fret not, my friend. We've assembled a perfect list of our Top 5 tracks to play when you're in a rainy day mood, or perhaps just patiently waiting to weather this current storm.

Pandemic Playlist: Rainy Mood Edition

'Umbrella' - Rihanna

What better way to kick things off than this catchy rainy-day ditty from Queen RiRi, whose latest 'R9' studio album is rumored to be dropping anytime soon. Even Rihanna knows a thing or two about enduring a spell of a grim uncertainty — when it rains and pours, you've just gotta make do with a little help from your friends! "Now that it's raining more than ever / Know that we'll still have each other / You can stand under my umbrella." Much appreciated, Rihanna! Eh! Eh!

'Africa' - Toto

We journey now to the misty Mount Kilimanjaro and the dusky plains of the Serengeti, made famous by the rock band Toto in their 1982 hit, 'Africa'. This is an evergreen number, perfect for shaking you out of your gloomy mood — because now you've got plenty of time on your hands to spend with the ones you love! "I bless the rains down in Africa / Gonna take some time to do the things we never had." We'll never get tired of hearing this golden oldie.

'The Rain Song' - Led Zeppelin

Speaking of the mystical and magical rains, why not summon up the twinkling strings of the great guitar god, Jimmy Page? The late Beatle George Harrison reportedly inspired this song, telling John "Bonzo" Bonham that Led Zep ought to make more ballads. This seven-minute riposte was Page's epic musical reply, and Robert Plant counts this vocal performance as one of his finest ever as he sings the lines, "These are the seasons of emotion / And like the wind, they rise and fall / Upon us all, upon us all a little rain must fall."

'Sky Might Fall' - Kid Cudi

Rapper Kid Cudi has been described as one of the best hip-hop artistes of his generation, who is able to connect with his listeners on a deeply personal and intimate level. 'Sky Might Fall' is oddly appropriate for this current worldwide virus crisis, with Cudi singing "What a world that I'm livin' in / Will the rainstorms ever end?" He also offers us hope that the weather will soon change, however, and that all storms are destined to pass as he croons "The sky might fall / But I'm not worried at all."

'Just Listen' - Above & Beyond Presents OceanLab

For the last selection on our playlist, we invite you to close your eyes, imagine the rain falling down and get lost in a blissed-out world of chilled-out EDM. OceanLab is a vocal trance group that consists of the vocalist Justine Suissa and the celebrated UK EDM trio Above & Beyond. Suissa's haunting melodies and the gentle pitter-patter of this gorgeous track will refresh and reinvigorate your senses, much like a tranquil world that's been washed clean by an abundant dose of rainfall. It's just what the doctor ordered!

Pandemic Playlist is a daily list of songs that will keep you entertained instead of feeling drained while you're isolated at home. Look out for a fresh selection of great tunes from MEAWW to refresh your mood every day!
