LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rihanna's Los Angeles home was the scene of unusual drama when police were called because a man showed up and asked her to marry him. The incident happened on March 23 after which the man was arrested for trespassing at her Beverly Hills home. The mystery man reportedly flew from South Carolina to Los Angeles and then showed up at the singer's Beverly Hills residence to ask for her hand in marriage.

The man stated that he was there to pop the question to the singer. Rihanna's team immediately called the police, and the man - who was wearing a red hoodie and sweatpants - was taken away in handcuffs, reports TMZ. However, the unidentified man was only detained and eventually released, having gone no further than Rihanna's driveway. It is unclear whether Rihanna, who is expecting her and A$AP Rocky's second child, was home when the incident occurred.

"#Rihanna's house became the center of some serious police action after one man showed up wanting to ask for her hand in marriage," Daily Loud posted on Instagram. The post further says, "Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the man, who traveled from South Carolina, walked up to Rihanna's home Thursday where he was almost immediately greeted by her security. Our sources say the man claimed he was there to propose to the singer, and Rihanna's team called the cops right away. When officers arrived, they put the man in handcuffs, got him in a car and had a serious chat about his intentions. We're told it was determined the man - dressed in a red Nike hoodie - had not broken any laws, though he was asked to leave and told not to return."

Rihanna has dealt with home intruders in the past

This is not the first time that the 'Umbrella' singer has had to deal with unwanted strangers showing up at her house. This incident occurred almost five years after another disturbing incident in which a strange man allegedly broke into her house when she was out of town. Los Angeles police were called to the singer's home in May 2018 because they feared a possible intruder.

Eduardo Leon, 26, of Orange County was discovered in her home; he had been there for at least a full day before being tased and arrested. Leon was eventually arrested on $150,000 bail after being charged with trespassing, burglary and stalking. He allegedly told police that he had come to have sex with the 'Disturbia' singer, as per TMZ.

Internet reacts to the incident

The Internet was amused over the incident, with social media users writing comments such as, "You miss 💯% of the shots you don’t take." Fitness coach Jay D Cartere commented, "Rihanna has 2 kids She’s with Asap Rocky - father of her kids Either the man wanted clout Or the man was insane Both too dangerous to be on these streets He needs jail ASAP." One follower quipped, "SOUNDS LIKE ONE OF MY EX GIRLFRIENDS." Another follower typed, "Had it been me I'd have asked where the album at." "The man is Chris Brown. He is here He needs to heal," joked another Internet user. One follower wrote, "The cops arrested him Rihanna as well. For impersonating a singer at the Super Bowl halftime show." Another follower created a meme and wrote, "How the stalker pulled up to Rihanna" "These niggas need jobs and Jesus," joked another.
