'Committing treason': Royal commentators hit back Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after part 2 of Netflix docu airs
LONDON, UK: 'Harry & Meghan', a docuseries that has made several allegations against the royal family, has been receiving backlash in the UK and was unwelcomed by the media in the country. Following the allegations by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, one of the commentators even went on to label their actions as "treason" amid several other jarring comments attracted by the final episodes of the docuseries.
Nana Akua of GB News reacted to the second installment of the series with anger and disapproval as she urged a national referendum to get the royal titles of the couple and Harry's birthright as a prince to be removed. The 51-year-old host called the Netflix series “disgraceful,” saying, “I would go as far to say that they are committing treason.” Akua, who is Black, angrily said that the Duchess of Sussex made it “all about race,” and claimed “the only reason why people don’t like this woman is frankly because of the way she behaved. The awful things she said.”

Continuing to talk about Meghan, she said, “This woman is delusional, self-obsessed and she’s dragging Harry down with her. And frankly, they are a disgrace to this country.” In addition, Akua's fellow host Dan Wootton said, "Most disgraceful propaganda yet.”
Piers Morgan, the New York Post columnist, called the couple's accusations an “outstanding treachery” and “a grotesque and sickening betrayal” of the royal family, claiming that Harry trashed his brother in public, labeled his father King Charles a liar, and attacked his grandmother, the late Queen, for not doing anything.

“This is a massive disinformation campaign by Megan and Harry — it’s an absolute disgrace. It is a hate-filled campaign against the British monarchy. And I do think the late queen would have been absolutely appalled,” Nile Gardner, the political commentator and an aide to former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, said. He also accused the couple of “enriching themselves using royal titles while attacking the royal family,” according to the New York Post.
Harry's grandmother, the late Queen, bestowed them the royal title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018 during Harry and Meghan's wedding. Subsidiary titles such as Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel were also given at the time. Following the controversial docuseries and the public opinionating on revoking their titles, royal experts mentioned a constitutional problem, stating that Harry would remain to be addressed as Prince Harry as he was born a prince even if the Sussexes' title as duke was ripped. As he is entitled to be called a Prince, Meghan would become Princess Harry (or strictly Princess Henry) even if her duchess title gets revoked, reported the Daily Mail.
