Comic-Con 2020: Table read of 'Star Trek: Discovery' Season 2 finale details the VFX, fans say it's 'badass'

'Star Trek: Discovery' fans had a lot to celebrate on Day 2 of Comic-Con @ Home as the Trekverse panel gave them a table reading of the Season 2 finale episode, 'Such Sweet Sorrow Part 2',  by the cast that also involved a detailed look at the VFX and BTS. For the fans, it was all about reliving the gripping finale as they took to Twitter to share their reactions about the reading.

"Loving this! Seeing all of you in casually dressed human guise using your Disco voices and expressions is amazing! TTYL later about choices you make in Saru's accent--everyone focuses on his looks. #StarTrekDiscovery #startrekunitedgives," a fan wrote. "This #StarTrekDiscovery table read is pretty badass. #startrek" remarked another. "This #StarTrekDiscovery virtual table read is super fun and incredibly well produced! #StarTrekUniverse #SDCC #SDCC2020 #StarTrek #ComicConAtHome," read one of the tweets.

"Watching @alanvansprang at a @Comic_Con panel and I didn’t have to camp out overnight on the sidewalk to see him. #ComicConAtHome #StarTrek," a fan tweeted. "I love the entire #StarTrekDiscovery cast but damn when Sonequa speaks you LISTEN. What a presence S #SDCCatHome #StarTrekSDCC," a fan opined. The table read saw each cast member narrate the lines with utmost precision that had audiences hooked. "That VFX is badass," a fan wrote.

The cast members included Sonequa Martin-Green (Commander Michael Burnham), Michelle Yeoh (Philippa Georgiou), Doug Jones (Commander Saru), Anthony Rapp (Lt. Commander Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Ensign Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), Mary Chieffo (L'Rell), Tig Notaro (Commander Jett Reno), Alan Van Sprang (Captain Leland), Jayne Brook (Admiral Katrina Cornwall)

And the Discovery Bridge crew Emily Coutts (Lt. Detmer), Oyin Oladejo (Lt. J.G. Owosekun), Patrick Kwok-Choon (Lt. Rhys), Ronnie Rowe Jr. (Lt. J.G. Bryce), Sara Mitich (Lt. Nilsson), and upcoming Start Trek: Strange New World stars Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike), Rebecca Romijn (Number One), and Ethan Peck (Spock). Talking about upholding the tradition of DNA, Yeoh said maintaining the tradition was part of the "DNA".
