Comic-Con 2020: Will 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' see a cameo from Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes?

'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' is the latest entrant to AMC's zombie franchise series. With two seasons of ten episodes each, the series is set in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse and fans have been speculating on what the series has in store. One of the first theories is if the series will see Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) back in some capacity. Last we saw, he was taken away in a chopper in Season 8 by a mysterious chopper and while we do know the outfit is called CRM, there are just specks of information about them.

With Grimes missing throughout 'The Walking Dead' Season 10, the idea is to see if 'World Beyond' fills up that space as it gives us a glimpse of the key character. While we do know there is one 'The Walking Dead' character confirmed to appear, it is possible if AMC has plans for a cameo by Grimes. And in case there isn't, we can expect easter eggs or name-drops that would still keep the Grimes storyline going in the franchise. With a solo movie in the works, maybe 'World Beyond' could serve as a prelude to Grimes's journey.

The official synopsis of 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' reads: "Two sisters along with two friends leave a place of safety and comfort to brave dangers, known and unknown, living and undead on an important quest. Pursued by those who wish to protect them and those who wish to harm them, a tale of growing up and transformation unfurls across dangerous terrain, challenging everything they know about the world, themselves, and each other. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. But all of them will find the truths they seek."

With Comic-Con @ Home 2020 coming up, fans will be hoping to know more about the organization. 'The Walking Dead: World Beyond' panel is slated on Friday, July 24, at 2 pm PT and will be moderated by Chris Hardwick. The panel also features the cast comprising of Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Hal Cumpston, Nicholas Cantu, Nico Tortorella, Julia Ormond, and Joe Holt along with Gimple and showrunner/EP Matt Negrete.

'Comic-Con @ Home 2020 starts July 22 and is a five-day event.
