Colt Glover, the country singer from Boerne, Texas walked into the audition quite nervously, along with his supportive friend and guitarist. From the first look, there is nothing much that stands out for the judges, except for his rosary, which made Luke exclaim, "We got a cross." 'You're my fighter'
Colt begins to sing to guitar strum, and it quickly became very clear that he has a natural talent for music. His voice is rich and soulful, while also showcasing his skill and passion, as he bent his notes. From the very beginning, we see the judges nod along, impressed by his performance. They even began to sway to the music, clearly moved by his heartfelt lyrics. Katy even closed her eyes, completely lost in the beauty of Colt's audition. After his performance, Luke turns to Katy and asks her what she thought about Colt, the country musician. Katy was ready with a quick analogy as her reply. She said, "If we were living in a video game simulation, and I had to pick a character in country music, I would pick a guy named COLT...GLOVER!" She also enacted how she would be in her imaginative video game stimulation - a quick robot-hand move. She further continues and exclaims, "You are the best country singer we have seen so far!" and concludes her unsaid approval by saying, "You are my fighter." Even though his entry into the competition was not explicitly spelled out by the judges yet, it was clear that Colt was about to secure a place on 'American Idol' 2023 and get a golden ticket.

Throughout the performance, Colt had a nervous energy going on. He kept pushing his hands in his pockets while singing and looked at the judges with a jittery smile. It was clear that he felt the pressure of the competition already. Katy understood that Colt was feeling on the edge and comforted him by saying, " Relax, you got this."His audition performance was punctuated with shots of Lionel nodding in approval and seemingly taking note of how he used his hands while singing. "All we have to do, in your whole career, is to teach you what to do with your hands while you singing.", Lionel stated right after Katy expressed her unworded approval of Colt. The others laughed in agreement and Katy finally worded her approval of Colt by saying, 'Top 10...YES!" Now that Colt is going to Hollywood, only time can tell how he flares in his musical journey on 'American Idol' 2023.
