'American Idol' 2023: Who is Dany Epp's mother? Katy Perry asks Denise to be the fourth judge
SUFFERN, NEW YORK: As the Season 21 auditions continue in Nashville, Las Vegas, and New Orleans this week on 'American Idol', emotions were high. The trio of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Pery, and Lionel Richie is on the lookout for the next big star in the music industry. A lot of skilled artists took the stage on the March 12, episode of the show and many advanced to Hollywood week like Hannah Nicolaisen, Tripp Taylor, etc.
One young singer who stood out in the crowd was Dany Epp. The artist had brought her mom Denise along for her Season 21 audition as she is her biggest cheerleader and judge. As soon as Dany revealed that her mom is a big fan of the show and kind of considers herself a judge, Katy invited Denise to be the fourth judge for Dany's performance. Who is Dany Epp's mother? Who is Dany Epp's mother Denise?
For her 'American Idol' audition the contestant Dany brought along her mother Denise. Denise lives in Suffern, New York, and hadn't seen her son for almost a year. Dany describes her mother as her "lifesaver" and claims that she is always there for her whenever she needs it including financial support. Denise is a huge fan of 'American Idol' and likes to place herself in the judge's shoes and thinks that she is most like Katy as "I mostly agree with her."
Before the audition, Denise was the calming presence that assured Dany everything will be all right. Denise is a proud mother and is the first one who always judges her daughter and gives her advice on how to be better.
Katy Perry asks Denise to judge Dany Epp's performance
When Dany revealed that her mom Denise likes to judge, Katy asked, "Will she give an honest judgment of your performance?" As soon as Dany replied that she would, Denise was invited by the pop singer to be the fourth judge. Dany choose to be bold and decided to audition with Katy's song 'The one that got away'. When asked if Denise thought the song was the right choice or not she said, "Yeah and I really hope you like it."
Denise couldn't help but tear up during Dany's performance and when Katy asked her at the end what her verdict is she said, "I think she needs to keep her eyes open more, she has got the emotions, she just needs to work on connecting with her audience." Lionel agrees with Denise and tells Dany to believe in herself. Katy was really impressed by Dany and sang along with her during the last part. Luke believes that Dany's voice is "real and emotional." It's Hollywood time for Dany.
