Katy Perry was amazed with Hannah Nicolaisen's voice and said, 'You just need to start the engine'

HOUSTON, TEXAS: 'American Idol' Season 21 is off to a phenomenal start and as the season progresses the competition keeps heating up. Many talented artists have auditioned and some left their mark on the stage like young Tyson Venegas, Iam Tongi, Elijha McCormick, and more. 

In the March 12 episode of 'American idol' a volleyball player turned aspiring singer set the stage on fire. Yes, we are talking about Hannah Micolaisen. Hannah impressed all three judges with her rendition of Bob Dylan's 'Make you feel my love'. Katy Perry was amazed at Hannah's vocal range and compared her to a "pristine vintage car" that has been sitting in a garage.

Texas native Hannah auditioned in front of the three judges with Bob Dylan's cover of 'Make you feel my love' and stunned the judges with her rich voice and powerful performance. The trio of judges had a hard time believing that Hannah just started her musical journey 2 months ago and was impressed with her performance. Lionel Richie thinks the young artist did everything right and has a "unique voice, that we pray for in this industry." Luke Bryan calls Hannah a star and says, "You were born to sing."

But it was Katy's comment that caught our attention. Katy  believes that Hannah is just like a "Pristine vintage car that has been unveiled." She explains that Hannah hasn't even sung enough to know her actual potential. “Well, you just spiked the ball in our faces,” Katy says when it’s over. The verdict for Hannah is, "You are going to Hollywood."

'So rich and lovely'

The 'American Idol' fans loved Hannah's performance and found her voice beautiful. Many have congratulated her on her well deserves golden ticket as one fan said, "Up now on #AmericanIdol is @HannahsMusicand she is heading to Hollywood with her golden ticket! Beautiful voice! Congrats Hannah!" Another said, "This girl Hannah has a gorgeous voice. I predict she'll make it to the Top 10, at least. Probably my favorite voice so far this season. #AmericanIdol." One more tweeted, "Hannah can SANG! #AmericanIdol."

The young singer dazzled the fans with her voice and has already become one of their favorites this season. One fan tweeted, "Hannah Nicolaisen relaxing into those notes and naturally emoting the lyrics. Very good audition. Sweet inflections and melisma also. #AmericanIdol #IdolAuditions." Another added, "Her voice is amazing for Hannah Nicolaisen #Americanidol." One more said, "Hannah's vocal is SO RICH and lovely (and with her having a Danish grandpa she could THEORETICALLY find her way there someday) #AmericanIdol."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
