What happens when a bear snorts s**t tons of cocaine? Elizabeth Banks' 'Cocaine Bear' has the answer
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The makers of 'Cocaine Bear' recently released a new clip of the upcoming horror-comedy movie on their official Twitter account, and the goosebumps we feel are all too real. If you're feeling like movies today are all about superheroes and Oscar bait, then brace yourself for an adventurous ride.
Elizabeth Banks is set to take us on a ride with her next creation. Her movie 'Cocaine Bear' is based on the unbelievable true story of a real bear who consumed a million-dollar worth of cocaine packages after a drug peddler's plane crashed into a Georgia forest in 1985. While the real bear overdosed and died, its fictitious furry counterpart sets out in search of more drugs and is prepared to destroy anything and everyone who stands in its way. With such a plot, it's simple to understand why director Banks, 48, was immediately drawn to the script written by Jimmy Warden.

The makers posted a new clip on the movie's official Twitter account which show us a glimpse of how dangerous a high bear could be. It outlines characteristics of a typical American black bear, such as its ability to smell up to a mile away, its ability to climb at a rate of four feet per second, and its top speed of thirty miles per hour. The cocaine-addled bear, however, is able to "smell everything, his climbing speed increases to 100 feet per second, and his top speed is enhanced up to 75 miles per hour."
According to Collider, the bear named Cokey was brought to life digitally by Wt FX and occasionally on set by Allan Henry, a bear performer who had previously trained under Andy Serkis. According to Banks, "He knew really well how to walk as a quadruped using prosthetics." "It's a whole skill set. There aren't many performers who genuinely focus on this around the world," she added.
