'Cobra Kai' Season 4 that premiered on December 31 on Netflix has hit a milestone already. The teen-action dramedy that serves as the continuation of 'The Karate Kid' franchise took the number one spot on the Top 10 English TV shows rankings between December 27 to Jan 2, per a Variety report. The outlet also reported that there was a total of 120.06 million hours as far as viewership was concerned.

Following 'Cobra Kai' were two more Netflix shows — 'Emily in Paris' and Henry Cavill's 'The Witcher' — both in their second season. Taking the top spot for the most-watched film was Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Don't Look Up' that clocked a staggering 152.29 million hours. Previously it was 'Red Notice' that claimed the crown when it came to movies.

The streaming giant announced the movie's success last year saying over half of its 214 million subscribers across the globe had tuned in to watch the movie starring Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson. The movie had a theatrical release as well but managed to make just $2 million of its $200 million production cost. With this, the film surpassed the most-watched title that was initially held by Sandra Bullock's 'Bird Box'.

'Cobra Kai' made its debut in 2018 on YouTube Red and followed it up with a second installment on the channel before switching to Netflix. The show follows William Zabka's Johnny Lawrence and his journey in the present, renewing his rivalry with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). Also part of the show's cast is Tanner Buchanan, Jacob Bertrand, and Mary Mouser while some familiar faces in Martin Kove and Thomas Ian Griffith also feature. The series was deemed a hit with a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The third season was another blockbuster and the fourth, premiering on December 31 saw some astounding viewership. The latest season deals with the conflict between the students of the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang along with some of the co-opted Cobra Kai followers. Season 4 opened to positive critical reception and was renewed for a fifth season ahead of the premiere, although there has been no potential release date.
