Garth Brooks took home the trophy for Entertainer of the Year at this year's Country Music awards but Eric Church fans are fuming over the pick. Brooks won the award over other names in country music like Church, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

According to fans, Church was robbed of his award. "Eric Fucking Church is the real EOTY by a mile," one fan said, "He got robbed! Country music is straight-up trash these days. These other 'artists' suck." Another fan echoed similar emotions saying that while Church ends up being nominated, he never wins. "Garth Brooks winning entertainer of the year is pitiful. Eric Church, always nominated and never wins. I’d tell them to quit putting me up there. Same old thing every year," the fan said on Twitter. Church has been nominated twice in the past, 2015 and 2017 but has never won.

Fans of Brooks too seemed to agree. "So disappointed Eric Church didn't win entertainer of the year. Big fan of Garth but Eric deserved the award," said another user.

"Garth Brooks has, according to his website, played about four live shows this year. Eric Church has played 54, and one of those was a record-setting night at Nissan Stadium. But sure, #CMAawards," one angry fan wrote. They also accused the award ceremony of being set up. "Garth Brooks for entertainer of the year is such a joke. Shits rigged and Eric Church deserved that award #CMAawards"

Carrie Underwood fans, equally mad called on a collaboration between the two icons."So are the Eric Church and Carrie Underwood stans going to team up to riot in the streets of Nashville or what," a twitter fan said, while another hoped for a revote. "Off the top of my head.. Eric Church had Desperate Man. Carrie Underwood had Cry Pretty. Chris Stapleton had Broken Halos. Keith Urban had We Were. What did Garth have this year? A song with Blake Shelton?" a fan asked sarcastically.
