‘Stop this mania’: Claudia Raia calls out trolls for criticizing her pregnancy at 56 as she welcomes baby boy
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL: Brazilian TV star slammed the critics who trolled her online for having a baby at 56. Claudia Raia recently opened up about getting naturally pregnant at 55 and giving birth to her son at 56. She announced her surprise pregnancy and subsequent delivery on social media, but she has been subjected to unrelenting hatred ever since.
Under the Instagram post, one user commented, “Is she the child’s grandmother or great-grandmother?” Another ruthlessly penned: “Looking like boy’s grandma.” But the model's newly shared video has snapped back all of the hate comments that came her way, urging the trolls "to reflect" and "stop this mania of judging or putting limits on other people’s maternity."

'Reflect'
In the revenge post shared to her Instagram page, she said, “There are a thousand ways to be a mother,” she said in the caption translated from Portuguese. “In my case, being 50 plus was one of the challenges, but it’s worth reflecting on that today there are a thousand family formats and so many other forms of maternal love. We need to stop this mania of judging or putting limits on other people’s maternity because each person sees this experience in a very intimate and unique way." And she finally added, “Reflect.”
In a recent TV appearance in Brazil, Claudia pleaded with women to "please have more empathy" while speaking about the negative feedback her pregnancy has received. She welcomed her baby boy Luca who she shares with her husband and actor Jarbas Homem de Mello on February 11 this year while writing “Luca arrived, lighting up Saturday night!”
'It can not be. Guys, I'm 55 years old’
After giving birth to her first two children more than 20 years ago in a different marriage, Claudia was astounded to learn she was expecting her third kid. She recalled: "When the doctor asked me for a beta, the pregnancy blood test, I said, 'Baby, you're really crazy. Where did you get this from? I'm 55 years old.’ “I went to the pharmacy, bought the Clearblue, I couldn't stand it. Because I said 'I have to take the test' - a test that everyone does - what is this, I'm going to wait a day and a half for a blood test to come? “I can't stand it. “Then I took the test and it came back more than three weeks pregnant. “I said, 'it can not be. Guys, I'm 55-years-old’," as per The US Sun.
