LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: A mother broke down in tears in an online video as she spoke about trolls attacking her baby's unusual name. Liana Jade, who has a joint YouTube channel with her partner, Connor Darlington, welcomed their son in July 2022 and named him "Koazy," pronounced "cozy."

Nevertheless, Liana, who has more than 2.71 million followers, posted a video on her TikTok account sobbing uncontrollably. She complained about how people were criticizing her child's name online after his “new and unique” name was subjected to ridicule on ‘The Unplanned Podcast’ presented by American YouTubers Matt and Abby. Although the pair didn’t mention Koazy by name, they described the unusual name given by Liana Jade as “ridiculous” and the decision to have such names showed how the new parents were "out of control."

'It does kinda bug me'

In the clip, Abby noted it was a "red flag" to give a youngster a name that doesn't already exist, claiming "it could not be the flex you think it is". "I'm gonna be honest with you, it does kinda bug me some of the names that are out there nowadays. So off the wall, I'm like, you know, your child is going to grow up and be an adult and potentially work in a professional setting," Abby said. The duo also left their comment section open, where social media users blasted Liana and Connor for their decision.

The drama left Liana heartbroken as she explained Koazy’s name isn’t “everyone’s cup of tea” and she believes it is “cruel” to allow people who don’t like her baby name to “rip at it”, New York Post reported. “People have said we called him Koazy because he was cozy in the womb. But no. It was a name we already had and as I was getting so heavily pregnant, people were saying ‘he’s so cozy in your belly,” she explained in her tear-filled video, which has garnered more than 6.2 million views. “It confirmed to us that is what we should name him… we were like ‘Oh my God, it’s meant to be’.”

'I wasn't trying to name him for a flex'

"I wasn't trying to name him anything for a flex," Liana stated, adding that opening the comment section to allow others to mock their baby name had “really upset” her. “I knew everyone wasn’t going to love the name so I am not going to sit here defending it,” she continued. “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But it’s just different when there’s this comment section open on such a big influencer’s video of people, fully grown adults, just sitting there slandering my baby’s name. I think it’s quite cruel – and if I had posted that video personally, I think I would have been very mindful of who was being named and how that can have an effect on other people.”

Since Liana posted her video online, her followers urged her not to listen to critics as they reassured her that Koazy is a “sweet” name. "All that matters is that you and your partner love the name!" new mother Molly Mae commented. "Koazy is such a sweet name DON'T listen to them," a second user said while another user asserted. "You just said fully grown adults. If they can’t be an adult and respect the name of your child they’re not worth the attention!!"
