Singer Christina Aguilera recently set Instagram on fire as she posed topless in a series of new photos. The 40-year-old singer was teasing her upcoming performance at the Brooklyn LadyLand Festival as she appeared before the camera in nothing but a pair of low-rise denim. Meanwhile, her chest was bare with only her long, platinum hair for cover. The photos were undoubtedly a nod to her famous 2002 album 'Stripped' where she posed topless for the cover in the exact same manner.

Aguilera is not the only celebrity posing topless in the recent past, as our favorite pop star Britney Spears seems to have developed quite a knack for it. The 'Toxic' singer has been posing topless quite frequently these days, four times on Instagram to be precise. She has equated her topless photos with enjoying the taste of freedom, as her father finally vowed to step down from her conservatorship after 13 long years. However, in the case of Christina Aguilera, the topless photos simply appear to be a tribute to the past.

Aguilera's stunning photos quickly racked up appreciation from bemused fans as well as her friends in the industry. But perhaps, the most standout remarks came from the singer's fiancé Matthew Rutler, who posted a no-holds-barred comment on the photos. “Ummmmmm I am going to be there. Especially after seeing this. 🔥🔥🔥,” he wrote.

At one time, especially in the early 2000s, Christina Aguilera had redefined red carpet fashion with her outrageous choice of outfits. I mean, who can ever forget her characteristic scarf tops on red carpet events that often left little to the imagination. The 'Voice' judge has never faltered in her fashion quotient and was often spotted in bold photoshoots. The cover for her 2002 LP 'Stripped' had raised eyebrows as well as garnered immense appreciation for her boldness.

In the latest recreation, Aguilera posed topless in front of a mirror as she wrote in caption, "One week until @ladylandfestival ✨💕 Who’s going to be there?" The photos were posted to share about the LadyLand Festival of September 11 — an event celebrating pride and Queer performers. Aguilera will be headlining the one-day festival in Brooklyn.
