'I wanted more'
In an interview given to Classix ATL on Thursday, March 30, the ‘Jackie Brown’ actor shared details about his decision of stepping back from Hollywood, “The way I kind of stepped back from Hollywood at one point, you know, being the highest paid actor in Hollywood,” before adding, “But I felt like, . . ., it was a ceiling right there and I wanted more.”
The huge success could not satisfy him, as he said, “It wasn't enough. So I stepped back and lived a little bit, traveled the world, and did a lot of humanitarian stuff that really broadened my perspective on the world.”
“That, you know, it ain't just about me being the biggest comic actor in the world, it's about becoming somebody to give to the world - inspire in some kind of way, hopefully. I like that I did that,” added the ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ actor.

Even though Tucker was on a hiatus after ‘Rush Hour 3,’ he was still in touch with Hollywood. In 2009 he appeared in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ along with Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Robert De Niro. He also hosted the 2013 BET Awards.
Similarly, he was also not away from the stand up performances. The star has five gigs lined up in April with the first being scheduled on this Friday, April 7 at The Moody Theater in Austin, Texas. Speaking of his stand-up performances, Tucker said, “I'm doing it right now. I'm on the road, so I'm definitely looking forward to doing like a stand-up comedy and stand-up shows,' reassured Chris, adding: 'I definitely want to [write] a book.”
The beloved star is also appearing in the Ben Affleck directorial ‘AIR’ when he will essay the role of Nike Jordan Vice-President Howard White. Tucker said, “I basically wrote all my parts in the movie and just gave them to Ben,” as he is quite close to White meeting him “years ago at Michael Jordan's golf tournaments down in the Bahamas.” Tucker further revealed about the film, “He loved it because all the research and information I got from Howard about what was going on with Nike. So it was great.”
