Chris Rock's younger brother, Tony Rock, has opened up about Will Smith's slap gate controversy at the 94th Academy Awards held on Sunday, March 27. The 'Saturday Night Live' alum declared on social media that he does not accept the 'King Richard' star's apology.

During his weekly Twitter Q&A session, "20 Questions Tuesdays," the 47-year-old actor was asked if he accepted Will's apology. When a user questioned if he accepts the apology, Tony simply replied, "No." Another social media user asked Tony if he and his brother Chris would be "professional" or "fight fire with fire," to which Tony responded, "It's on bro." Following the awkward exchange, Tony remarked that his brother is "still rich" and doing "fine."

Tony further debunked American rapper P Diddy's claims of Chris and Will making amends after the incident. "So Diddy was lying when he said Chris and Will made up that night and are good now?" one individual inquired. To which Tony said, "Yep."

Soon after, Tony urged his fans to watch 'Good Hair,' claiming that his brother was being accused of insulting women of color. "Be sure to watch 'Good Hair' since the narrative is now changed to all my bro does is disrespect women of color," the 'All of Us' alum tweeted.

For the uninitiated, Chris made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair, calling it 'GI Jane' at the 2022 Oscars. The joke didn't go down well with Jada's husband and actor Will Smith. The 53-year-old actor, who won his first Oscar for Best Actor in 'King Richards' later that night, stormed the stage and hit Chris. Last year, Jada announced that she had shaved her head after being diagnosed with alopecia.

Meanwhile, Will has apologized to the comedian for his actions at the Academy Awards. 'The Pursuit of Happyness' actor wrote on his social media, "I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris," Will continued, "I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness." The "Aladdin" actor further stressed, "I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress."

Condemning the assault, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has launched an official investigation into the incident. “The Academy condemns the actions of Mr. Smith at last night's show," the Academy said in a statement on Monday, March 28. The group added, "We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law."
