Will Smith is being called out for his 'hypocrisy' after a 1991 video of him mocking a man for being bald has resurfaced. The clip from 'The Arsenio Hall Show' has gone viral after the 53-year-old actor slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars on Monday, March 28, after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith's bald look.

In the clip, Smith made a joke on live TV about bassist John Williams who was in the audience of the show: "Like, he has a rule, the bass player? He’s got a rule: He’s gotta wax his head every day. That’s a rule."

OSCARS SLAPGATE: The behind-the-scenes drama that unfolded after Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock

Hilarious Wikipedia entry says why Will Smith REALLY slapped Chris Rock

On the night that Smith was invited to The Arsenio Hall Show, he was well known for his role as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The audience can be heard laughing awkwardly, to which Smith says “Ah these are jokes, come on”.  The caption read, "That time in 1991 when Will Smith made fun of a bald man on the Arsenio Hall Show and said 'awe these are jokes man c'mon.'"

Following the discovery of this video, many Twitter users slammed the actor's double standards. "How can Will Smith make a joke about bald people in 1991 stating "its just a joke" but then can't take the same stance when it's about Jada?"

The following was a tweet from another user: "I guess Arsenio Hall should’ve 'slapped the shit!' Out of Will Smith in 1991."

Another user's tweet read, "I’ve had hair loss and have been bald. I got called ‘Ripley’ all the time. I never once felt that justified me hitting another person. It was a joke about GI Jane not alopecia. Will Smith is a hypocrite he laughed first. And he’s made jokes at the expense of others in the past."

Smith has already apologized for hitting Rock at the Oscars on Sunday night, calling his actions "unacceptable and inexcusable" and leaving him "embarrassed." He said he was "embarrassed" by his actions, which stunned the audience, producers, and spectators, in an Instagram post.

"Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive," he wrote. "My behavior at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada's medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally."

He concludes by saying, "I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."

Smith then expressed his regret to the show's organizers and producers. Rock has not responded to Smith's apologies or commented on the situation that occurred on entertainment industry's biggest night.
