The 43-year-old actor endorsed the 63-year-old businessman Rick Caruso saying that the city where he has lived "for over 20 years" has declined into "pain and utter disarray." The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' actor wrote in his Instagram story, "I've lived in LA for over 20 years. It's been great to me. In that time I've seen what many residents here have seen, the city's gradual decline into pain and utter disarray. If you live here, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't normally support political candidates. But in this election, there's too much to lose." Pratt, supporting the billionaire, wrote, "If you're an LA voter, I urge you to vote for @rickcarusola. He's a builder. He knows how to get s--t done. He's the guy for our city. Rick Caruso for LA Mayor."

Chris Pratt evokes mixed reactions with his endorsement of Rick Caruso

One user was in complete support of Chris Pratt and his decision to support Rick Caruso saying, "I’m shocked someone in Hollywood has the balls to tell the truth like this." Another user supported Rick Caruso and the fact that he is a real-estate developer saying, "And he specializes in Real Estste, He can lower home mortgages, and apt. rentals." One more user wrote, "I’ve always loved him. Keep being bold Chris, America needs more celebs that go their own way. California has become garbage and I’m glad you are speaking up about it"

However, not everyone was in support of this bold decision as one user sarcastically wrote, "Yes because electing the ultra wealthy into political leadership positions has historically worked out so well," to which another user hit back, saying, "Time for the elitists Left to cancel Chris Pratt. How dare he call out the obvious that another Democrat run city is in disarray!" Another user slammed Pratt and tweeted, "An uber -wealthy famous white man saying he’s watch LA’s “gradual decline into pain and utter disarray” from his mansion in the hills is disgusting, actually"
