In a 1995 article from The National Enquirer, it was reported that Noth regularly threatened Johnson and phoned her '25 times a day'. At one point, he even threatened to disfigure her and 'vowed to kill her dog'. Back then, Johnson shared her ordeal with a friend, narrating, "I've never been so frightened in my life. I just can't believe that someone who had once been so tender and sweet could turn into this raging wild man." Clippings from the bombshell 1995 report were recently shared by Diet Prada on their Instagram account, amid the rising allegations of sexual assault and violent behavior against Noth.
The actor started going out with Johnson sometime around 1990, and the pair was often photographed together on the red carpet. At that time, he was popular for essaying the role of Detective Mike Logan on 'Law & Order'. However, insider sources reveal a completely different and shocking side of him away from the limelight.
"Christopher was jealous if Beverly spoke to another man. He would fly into rages and accuse her of flirting. Eventually, the verbal assaults turned to physical abuse," a source shared with The National Enquirer in 1995. They further alleged that the actor often 'exhibited a vicious streak' during his relationship with Johnson. In fact, in 1991, Noth hit Johnson repeatedly on her face over some disagreement. "In 1991, on the way back from a party in New York, Christopher was seething. As soon as they arrived home, Christopher started in with the accusations and snapped.
He hit Beverly in the face with his fist over and over. Beverly fell to the floor crying, trying to crawl away," the source claimed.
Later, the actor "came to his senses, apologized and assured her he'd never touch [Johnson] in anger again." However, he failed to keep his promise and the "beating continued". In fact, on one occasion, he racially abused her and said, "I'm gonna come over there and kill you."
Despite the shocking allegations, no criminal charges were filed against Noth at the time who was in complete denial of the same. Moreover, Johnson also sought a restraining order against the actor.
