Jimmy Fallon thanks BTS for spending a week on 'The Tonight Show', Army calls host 'one hell of a guy'

K-pop supergroup just ended their 5-day run on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' and fans can't stop raving about the talk show host

BTS, the hugely popular South Korean K-pop group, just ended their five-day run on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'. The 'Dynamite' hit-makers had overtaken the late-night talk show five days in a row with special performances, skits and sketches alongside Fallon who has invited the boy bond on his show multiple times till date.

On the last day of the BTS Week, Fallon took to Twitter to thank all the BTS members for turning up and delighting their fans for five days in a row. Fallon, from his own handle, tweeted, "I want to sincerely thank BTS for choosing to spend a week with us. And to the Army...what can I say? You are a dream. You complete the picture. Keep shining. xo Chimmy." Then, a separate tweet sent out by the official handle of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' quoted Fallon thanking the BTS Army saying, "They’re some of the most loyal, positive and fun fans that you could ever dream of and I just want to say thank you to all of them: Chimmy Fallon loves you!"

Origin of Chimmy

Every BTS fan knows that the name Chimmy is given to Jimin's BT21 character. Fallon, during an October 2018 episode of his show where BTS were the guests, adopted the name Chimmy after bonding with Jimin over their phonetically similar names. Not only did Jimin and Fallon share a hug, but the talk show host also sported a headband featuring Jimin’s BT21 character Chimmy. Later that night, he sent out a tweet saying, "It’s starting West coast!!! Watch the first 20 min at least. You’ll dig it. #BTSonFALLON thanks, Chimmy"

Later, Fallon tweeted a video message for BTS ahead of their concert at Citi Field in New York, saying, "Yo, BTS, it’s your boy Chimmy Fallon! I just wanted to say break a leg tonight. I know you’re over at Citi Field, which you sold out in under 10 minutes; that’s unbelievable. I’ll be listening out of my window. Break a leg!” Fallon ended the video by flipping the hood of his sweatshirt and revealing that he's wearing a Chimmy hoodie. He captioned the video tweet saying, "BTS at #CitiField tonight!! New York loves you! Break a leg!! Chimmy." 

Later that night, Jimin responded by thanking Fallon and telling him that he looked "cute" in his hoodie writing, "Thanks jimmy! You look so cute!! See you soon!!"

Excited BTS fans took to Twitter to thank 'Chimmy' Fallon for his support, and for the BTS Week. Coincidentally, Fallon's BTS week held in sync with the 46th People's Choice Awards nominations announcement for which 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon' has been nominated in the Best Talk Show category. The 46th People's Choice Awards will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020. One BTS fan, rallying the BTS Army to vote for Fallon, tweeted, "Let's get this PCA for Chimmy Fallon!!"

Another BTS fan, talking about the BTS Week on Fallon, added, "I can't believe that BTSONFALLON ends todayy!but I'm so happy and proud to our boys,also thankyou for Chimmy Fallon for having fun with our boys!!until next time armys luvya'll," while another, thanking Fallon, wrote, "the best week indeed!! Thank you so much Chimmy Fallon! the performances, the interview and the games were amazing!!! we enjoyed it so so much."

Talking about the same, yet another BTS Army member added, "Thank You...Chimmy Fallon for taking such great care of our boys. You're one hell of a guy and we hope you always stay happy and safe. Thank you so much for #BTSWEEK...Now pray to the late night gods that we get a #BTSMONTH" Similarly, another fan added, "This has been such a memorable week, honestly one of the best moments of ARMYing together! The anticipation of new performances, the boys making us laugh, Chimmy Fallon being all cutesy and kind to the boys and us!! So grateful!"
