We never can get enough of 'Money Heist' aka 'La Casa de Papel' on Netflix and even though the show is four seasons in, it even caused Netflix to sort of crash when the latest season was released. However, by now, the fourth season has been binged and hung out for a rainy day rewatch and while the wait for Season 5 continues, Netflix has plenty of substitutes to keep us entertained.

This brings us to Netflix's newest Indian thriller, a movie that centers around the country's demonetization policy from 2016 when the prime minister outlawed all 500 and 1,000 rupees banknotes overnight, leading to millions of Indians scrambling to legally exchange those notes for smaller denominations. But what happens when your money was ill-begotten? That story lies at the heart of 'Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai', a thriller directed by acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap who wanted to objectively show what such an overnight decision does. The script was written by newcomer, Nihit Bhave who had been working on it for many years.

'Choked' follows Saritha Pillai, a bank professional who is providing for her family as her ne'er-do-well husband, Sushanth Pillai, an aspiring musician who first moved to Mumbai from his hometown in South India looking for a breakthrough. Just as their family reaches a breaking point and as Saritha deals with a clogged sink that builds up the tension, she comes across rolls and rolls of contraband money stashed in the pipes in her building, which she begins spending to have a better life.

Unfortunately, this is when India's demonetization comes into play and as Saritha is left wondering how she will deal with so many now-useless banknotes, she gets into the crosshairs of those who had the money in the first place. The cast of the movie features Bollywood and regional actors who are often acclaimed for the selective roles. Read on to know more about the cast of 'Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai'.
