Chloe x Halle drop 'Do It' remix featuring Doja Cat, Mulatto and City Girls, fans call it 'big win for women'

Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey had earlier teased fans saying they would be releasing something special on Friday, September 4. The R&B duo called it a 'Friday surprise' sending fans into overdrive as they speculated what could the duo be referring to; some even predicted there would be a collaboration. Well, the wait is finally over as Chloe x Halle announced what the surprise is. The duo released a remix version of their hit track 'Do It' featuring guest appearances from City Girls, Doja Cat and Mulatto.



 

Fans were quick to express their excitement at this massive collaboration between some immensely talented female musicians. Reactions poured in from all sides with one fan aptly tweeting, '"Chloe X Halle, City Girls, Doja Cat and Mulatto all on the same track? The girls not letting us breath tonight! Stream #DoItRemix."



 

Another fan, elated by the news of the collaboration, pointed out how the day has been a big one for female artists saying, "Tonight is a big win for women. mulan is being released. new sza music was released. the #DoItRemix is out with chloe, halle, doja, mulatto, and the city girls. and it’s officially beyonce’s birthday. wow. i love us.'



 

A Doja Cat admirer took to Twitter to say how great everything feels after the release of the 'Do It' remix, "The girls is eating tonight we got a new sza song AND a do it remix with the city girls, doja cat, and mulatto life is good."



 

Though there were fans that complained about City Girls being on the track. One Twitter user wrote, "City Girls were very much off beat. But I liked Doja and Mulatto’s parts, and the fact that Chloe and Halle added new verses."



 

Another user had the same to say about City Girls' inclusion on the remix saying, "They could’ve left the City Girls off of the #DoItRemix tbh,' while another wrote, 'We just gonna sit up here and act like the city girls verses weren’t horrible?"



 



 

Everyone seemed to love Doja Cat's verse. Fans on Twitter made this abunbdantly clear.



 



 



 

There were also some balanced voice out there that called out picking favorites of the bunch and wrote, 'How about when we finally get a song with 4 different female rappers and y’all trying to pick faves and say someone isn’t good? This is why we can’t have nice things. Just say it’s a bop and let it be, everyone killed that shit.'



 

There were also those who prefer the original version. One of the fans said, 'Do it was a great song without the City Girls Doja Cat and Mulatto lmao the remix was unexpected and unnecessary.'



 

Chloe x Halle released their sophomore record 'Ungodly Hour' in July 2020 which included features by Swae Lee and Mike Will Made It.
