'Chicago' Wednesday will see mysterious accidents on 'Fire', Natalie reaching breaking point on 'Med' and an intra-police feud on 'PD'

One week after the crossover, the action does not seem to slow down. Here's the lowdown on what we can look forward to in this week's episodes
PUBLISHED OCT 23, 2019

Fans might be expecting a break in action one week after the annual 'One Chicago' crossover event, but don't hold your breath.

With new episodes of 'Chicago Fire', 'Chicago Med', and 'Chicago P.D.' airing this Wednesday, read on to find out what you can expect in this week's episodes.

'Chicago Med'

In 'Chicago Med', Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) is overseeing the treatment of a young boy. However, she clashes with the parents who believe in only using holistic remedies.

When the parents try to check out their son, Natalie locks herself in the patient's room, giving the boy antibiotics against the parents' wishes. This will clearly haunt Natalie through the season, no matter how the episode ends.

If the son doesn't make it, we might as well wish Natalie goodbye now but that doesn't seem likely. It is possible that this ordeal will get her to lean on Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) for support seeing as he went through something similar in earlier seasons.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) and Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) will clash over their treatment of a patient with chronic pain.

This was predicted by fans when we first saw Dr. Marcel and tensions are set to be high considering the moments Marcel shared with nurse April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta), who is Ethan's girlfriend.

'Chicago Fire'

Next up will be 'Chicago Fire', where Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) will be representing the district at the National Firefighter Leadership Conference as Chief Boden had asked her to.

Meanwhile, the rest of Firehouse 51 will be called to two weirdly similar car wrecks that end up being much more sinister.

Additionally, Mouch (Christian Stolte) will try to start a newsletter and Cruz (Joe Minoso) will be dealing with the heartbreak of his relationship with his girlfriend, Chloe, ending.

It looks like we will get to see more of Alberto Rosende as Blake Gallo in this episode. We also hope to see some meaningful scenes for Kidd — she would be the first female firefighter on the show as a main character to be up for a possible promotion.

'Chicago PD'

'Chicago PD' will air next and it looks like Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) has still not learned from his past mistakes. When the Intelligence Unit is called to look into a murder at a Bulgarian neighborhood, the locals will not talk to the police.

Ruzek clashes with a patrol officer and it gets out of hand. By the end of the promo, Intelligence calls in for backup but the patrol doesn't show up, leaving the team in jeopardy.

Ruzek has gotten in trouble before for his brash and arrogant ways and though he had started to temper down, it looks like his one-night stint in jail might have brought those issues right back up.

This might also have implications on his newly rekindled relationship with Burgess, though whether that was just for one night remains to be seen.

The 'Chicago' franchise airs on NBC on Wednesday nights.
