Things are getting intense in the ongoing season of ‘Chicago Fire’ and fans cannot wait to see their favorite characters back on the screen. The concerns surrounding Matthew Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) fate on the show have grown considerably since he suffered a head injury in one of the recent episodes. Casey badly needs to visit the hospital and get himself treated.

However, Casey is still lying to himself that he is fine, even though his symptoms — his headaches — are still there. Will Casey go to the hospital? Or we will see Casey leaving the Chicago Fire Department due to the stinging head injury? Such burning questions could be answered in the upcoming episode of the highly popular show.

Before we go any further, though, we got to be the bearer of some bad news for you all. Viewers will now have to wait for an entire week to see a new episode as the show is set to go on a hiatus for one week and will be returning for a new episode on April 21.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 9 Episode 11 Recap

Casey tells Gallo (Alberto Rosende) that the headaches have stopped and there is nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Brett (Kara Killmer) overheard their conversation and asks him about his health, he says he is better. On the other hand, Herrmann (David Eigenberg) knows that Ritter (Daniel Kyri) broke up with his boyfriend, he tells him that he wants to set him up with a friend of his.

Severide gives the new recruits a quick drill. He gave the class a task and asked them to find a hot wrench. Mercer (Sasha Kuznetsov) finds it but doesn’t put protective gloves on before grabbing it and accidentally, burns his hand. The lieutenant is not happy with what Mercer does but decides to give him one more chance.

Brett goes to see Casey, she tells him that she saw Will at med, and he mentioned the headaches were for a friend, and he said it was important to see a doctor with symptoms like that. He thanks her for checking on him, but says he is fine.

The episode ends with Casey finally saying yes to see a doctor. Brett is relieved to hear that and says that she will be there for him.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 9 Episode 12 Spoilers

The new episode, titled ‘Natural Born Firefighter’, will air on Wednesday, April 21, and this is where things might get a little more intense for Casey. The official synopsis for the episode reads, “While Mouch (Christian Stolte) makes an incredible save, all eyes are on a mystery man who helped save his neighbor. Casey worries about his future at the CFD.”

So why would be Casey concerned about his future at the Chicago Fire Department? It looks like that his head injury might turn out to be worse than everyone would have imagined. Fans certainly don’t want him to leave the department, but his injury is making things worse for him and we are not shocked with the way how things are turning out to be for Casey.

However, writers might play around with Casey’s storyline because people love him and every time they see him on the show, they get really happy. This is a storyline that could linger through at least some of the remainder of this season.

Now, let’s just hope and pray that he finds a way to get better.

‘Chicago Fire’ Season 9 returns to NBC with a new episode on Wednesday.
