Based on the short story by Stephen King, 'Chapelwaite' premieres on Sunday, August 22 at 10 pm ET/PT on EPIX.

Plot

"Set in the 1850s, the series follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher's Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family's sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations. Hampshire plays Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher's Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College, and has returned home with an advance to write a story for the new and prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Her writer's block lifts when Boone arrives in town with his children, and despite her mother's protests, Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor and the Boone family in order to write about them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only craft the next great gothic novel, she'll unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years."

Adrien Brody
Adrien Nicholas Brody is an award-winning actor and producer. He is also the youngest actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor, for his performance in Roman Polanski's 'The Pianist'. He has also won the César Award for Best Actor, making him the second male American actor to do so. Emily Hampshire 
Emily Hampshire is a Canadian actress, best known for her role as Angelina in 'Boy Meets Girl' and as Stevie Budd in 'Schitt's Creek'. Donovan', '12 Monkeys', 'Never Saw It Coming', 'Mother!', '12 Monkeys: Recap/Finale' and 'Houdini and Doyle'.

Jennifer Ens is an actress. Not much is known about her work, but her IMDb page mentions 'Chapelwaite' as her first project.

'Chapelwaite' is based on' 'Jerusalem's Lot', a short story by highly acclaimed author, Stephen King.  King, whose works cover the genres of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, crime, science-fiction, and fantasy has sold over 350 million copies of his works. He has also written approximately 200 short stories. Multiple works of his have been adapted into movies, TV series and other media. King is the recipient of multiple Bram Stoker Awards, World Fantasy Awards,  British Fantasy Society, the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, World Fantasy Award for Life Achievement and a National Medal of Arts from the U.S. National Endowment for the Arts.
