SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO: Alec Baldwin to be charged with involuntary manslaughter for shooting down Halyna Hutchins in October 2021on on the sets of the film 'Rust' as he fired a prop gun. Similarly, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film's armorer, will also be charged.

According to BBC, the judgment by Santa Fe's District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies read, "Actor and producer Alec Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed will each be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. I have determined that there is sufficient evidence. On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice." Meanwhile, if convicted both may face up to 18 months in jail and $5,000. Here are some celebrity reactions to the judgment.

Internet divided over Alec Baldwin BEGGING fans to follow wife Hilaria on Instagram as 'birthday present'

Candace Owens claimed, "Great to see that Alec Baldwin is at long last being charged for killing that young woman. I hope they throw the book at him because he demonstrated dishonesty and utter lack of humility every day thereafter." Actor Steven Pasquale commented, "It is not the responsibility of the actor. For an artist to be handed a prop gun, and told its completely safe, and then held responsible when it's not, is outrageous. Actors play scenes. Armorers and prop people make sure props are safe." As a response to Steven's tweet, actor Armin Shimerman said, "Steve,I beg to differ. It has been obligatory on every set I worked for the armorer & the actor to inspect a gun for ammunition. If the armorer doesn't fails to demonstrate, the actor MUST ask.For his/her own safety and the safety of anyone he/she aims at. Safety is paramount."

Political commentator Katie Pavlich stated, "Re: Alec Baldwin news. Always remember: There is no such thing as an accident with a firearm, only negligence." Actor Ben Dreyfuss claimed, "I guess we'll found out more but i still don't totally understand how what happened is Alec Baldwin's fault if someone handed him a loaded gun and told him it was unloaded." Donald Trump Jr commented, "Maybe Alec Baldwin will be lucky enough to share a cell with Michael Avenatti." "To all Hollywood elites your feelings don’t matter the truth does," said actor Antonio Sabato.

Actor Ethan Embry tweeted, "I’ve said this before, and still strongly believe it. The industry has strict protocol when guns are anywhere near set, if those were followed she would be alive today. Her tragedy is the result of failing to maintain a safe working environment in an attempt to save money." Musician Ronald Van Gelderen commented, "Involuntary Manslaughter?! This is the most ridiculous charge ever. I understand he was a producer but every single producer on the movie should be held accountable for safety measures not being enforced not just Baldwin. The Armorer is 100% at fault here…" Robert King noted, "To charge Alec Baldwin as a producer is one thing, but to charge him as an actor seems to misunderstand the chain of responsibility on a movie set. If you’re charging the actor, you should be charging the director, all producers, prop master, many others. The fact the DA didn’t…"

Political commentator Larry Elder wrote, "Larry Elder is a dangerous idiot. I mean Trump level dangerous” —Alec Baldwin, September 2021 On the other hand, I’ve never shot and killed anyone. So there’s that…" Comedian Tim Young tweeted, "It took nearly 2 years for Alec Baldwin to finally be charged with shooting and killing a woman... which was witnessed by an entire film crew and probably filmed... How long would it have taken for a normal person to be charged?."

Meanwhile, when the tragic incident happened in 2021, some of the stars including George Clooney and Jensen Ackles stated their opinions. Clooney commented, "I've been on sets for 40 years and the person that hands you the gun, the person that is responsible for the gun, is either the prop or the armorer, period," he explained. "This is one of those things. I was friends with an actor named John-Erik Hexum, who accidentally pulled a gun up with a blank in it and put it to his head and died from the concussion. And then I was good friends — really good friends — with Brandon Lee." He further added,  "Now, every single time I'm handed a gun on the set, every time they hand me a gun, I look at it, I open it," he said. "I show it to the person I'm pointing it to, I show it to the crew. Every single take you hand it back to the armorer when you're done," as per US Magazine.

Ackles stated, "I'm not even sure where to start. This has been a tragedy of epic proportions that we are all still processing. Earlier last week, I felt compelled to tell Halyna just how awesome I thought she was. I told her how incredible I thought her camera shots were and just how exciting it was to watch her and her team work. Truly. She laughed and said thank you and gave me a hug. I'll forever be thankful we had that moment."
