Avicii committed suicide by slitting cutting himself with broken glass, reports claim
Avicii used broken glass to inflict wounds on himself to commit suicide, sources reveal. Many sources familiar with the incident surrounding the DJ's death believe it to be suicide. His parents alluded to the fact last week.
A shard of glass was used which caused the massive bleeding. TMZ reports that he used a broken shard of glass from a wine bottle to inflict fatal wounds on himself. Some say the wound was inflicted on his neck, which is strongly denied and some say the wound was on his wrist.
The 28-year-old DJ was reported dead on April 20, in Oman. He had problems with alcohol and the 'party' lifestyle which he openly talked about on several occasions. His friends believed this would eventually be the reason for his death.
Avicii's parents had released a statement on his demise which indicated that his death was a suicide. "He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace."
Avicii was an inspirational DJ. His career started when he was 16 and he had started posting his remixes online. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his track, 'Levels'. This was followed by the single 'Wake me up' which topped the music markets in Europe and came fourth in the US. He stopped touring in 2016 due to his health issues.
