'Catfish' Season 9: Air time, date, live stream, and all you need to know about show based on romance scammers
'Catfish' is based on couples who meet and fall in love over the Internet, all of this solely based on their interaction on the Internet. Whether love transcends offline or harsh secrets reveal themselves once they come face to face is what the show is all about. The show has already completed eight seasons on air and the release of the ninth season, which was shot remotely, was announced earlier this month. Here's all you should know about it.
Release date
Season 9 of 'Catfish' Part 1 premiered on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, with a new episode airing every Wednesday at 8 pm ET only on MTV.
Plot
According to MTV's press release, "While the world may still be socially distancing, people are online now more than ever looking for social connections and answers. 'Catfish' will go to the ends of the internet to find them. For the first time ever, Executive Producer and host Nev Schulman and co-host Kamie Crawford work together remotely to do what they do best: track down the truth. This season, Nev and Kamie have their work cut out for them as they must play by new rules, encounter new obstacles and dive headfirst into the world's 'new normal' to uncover lies and potentially find true love."

Schulman is a TV producer, a host, and synonymous with 'Catfish' since its inception. He began his career as an entrepreneur at the age of 19 by starting a film and photography company. He eventually started photographing dance after being involved with the ballet community in NYC. He is also a published author and penned a book, 'In Real Life: Love, Lies & Identity in the Digital Age', in 2014. Schulman is married to Laura Perlongo since 2017 and the couple has two children, a son, and a daughter.
Kamie Crawford
Crawford is a TV Host, content producer, model and former Miss Teen USA. Her website reveals that she always had a passion for investigative journalism and is putting her "FBI" skills to the test working alongside Schulman on 'Catfish'. Crawford also helps create social content for a number of brands that also include Swarovski, Lancôme, Dove and Rent the Runway.
