Just when we thought the beef between Cassidy and Tory Lanez was over the former dropped another diss track and re-ignited the beef. The Philadelphia native dropped a seven-minute hardcore diss song called ‘Plagiarism’ on his official YouTube channel without any prior notice leaving many hip-hop fans stunned.

The latest diss track comes after Tory Lanez took potshots at Cassidy a week ago with the help of his diss track called ‘When Its Dark (E-NFT) 8-10-21’. For those who are not aware, it was Cassidy who first ignited the beef with Tory with the help of a track called ‘Perjury.’ Speaking of the latest one, it seems the social media users did not dig the song as a few dubbed it as “lame” while other claimed that the career of the legendary battle rapper and freestyler was now over.

Cassidy takes aim at Tory Lanez with new diss track ‘Plagiarism’

Re-igniting the beef, Cassidy followed the routine of his diss tracks as he name-dropped Tory Lanez again in his latest. On the song, the 39-year-old hip-hop artist raps, “Since the adolescent tory lane story/ Changed every time he asked the question/ Cast a veteran on flex you did a cast/ Impression still using my music was a/ Bad selection i was the hustler for/ Usher ever had confessions my/ Presidential had him joking for the last.” Another quotable lyric from the song goes like, “Yo you never killed man, Showed your true colors, you a chameleon/ Like Wack 100 told 6ix9ine, you a civilian.”

Tory Lanez in his diss track ‘When Its Dark (E-NFT) 8-10-21’ too had clearly mentioned the name of the acclaimed rapper. He rapped, “Old n***as talkin', I ain't hearin' em/ I put fear in 'em, I leave Cas' body in that casket his career is in/ My prime to your prime, dawg, it's no comparison/ What you gon' compare? Some SMACK DVD appearances?”  The beef between the two started when Tory appeared on the radio station Hot 97 and performed a five-minute freestyle over Cassidy’s classic “I’m a Hustla’ saying he was paying homage to the hip-hop icon. This did not go down well with Cassidy as he did not like the fact that Tory copied his bars and flow. Speaking in an interview with HipHopUncensoredPodcast on Instagram, the ‘Hotel’ hitmaker had addressed the issue saying that he felt disrespected. “I feel disrespected that he feel like just because he [an] artist with some songs out, that him rappin’ to my beat is like, I should feel privileged. Like I should feel like he doin’ something for me, like I should feel grateful. F**k outta here. N***as been rappin’ to my beats. I been doin’ this s**t way before you came around. I don’t give a f**k about you rappin’ to my beat… Pay homage for real, n***a. Pay homage for real.”

‘No one will remember or replay that lame a** diss a week from now’

Hip-hop fans might have enjoyed the round one between the rappers but looks like they did not really like Cassidy’s latest diss song. While roasting the song ‘Plagiarism’, one fan said, “Bruh Cassidy f**king SUCKS! Dawg was a freestyle/battle goat and he’s literally erased my memory of that. Wow.” Another stated, “Huh???You need to keep up with the times nowadays to win a rap battle you have to also make a good song that people can listen to without thinking of it as a diss song Cassidy new tracks is straight garbage.”

One user tweeted, “Cassidy your career is over” followed by two laughing emoticons. Another  fan too made fun of Cassidy and posted, “So nobody in the studio with Cassidy couldn’t tell him to pick a better beat??” The next one shared, “Im a fan of Cassidy. I've heard him switch flows and destroy tracks. That's why I get pissed at lame responses like this one. This song was wack. No one will remember or replay that lame a** diss a week from now. Subsequently, people will remember/play Lanez's diss much longer.” And, another concluded, “I’m not listening to Cassidy in 2021 for 7 mins straight… hard pass bruh.”
