Carrie Underwood side-eyed Luke Bryan over Aaron Rodgers joke, dubbed 'anti-vax'
Aaron Rodgers' "immunization" comment has haunted him since NFL revealed he is unvaccinated. Not only was he brutally trolled on Twitter after revealing what he really meant by the term, in regards to himself, Rodgers' also became a topic of discussion at the Country Music Awards. Luke Bryan went up on stage and made a little mention about it, without mentioning the NFLer's name but it didn't take much to know who the joke was aimed at. The camera then switched to Carrie Underwood whose reaction has made news and while a section of social media users was left in splits, another group thought there was much more to her expression and slammed her for it, more about this in a bit.
For the uninitiated, Rodgers had claimed that he was "immunized" against Covid-19 when reporters asked him about his vaccination status. While a number of players cited HIPAA as a reason to not comment on whether they had received the jab or not, Rodgers decided to give away the answer that was sought from him. Turns out, he hadn't really taken the jab and sought other measures that he deemed fit to keep himself safe instead of taking the vaccine. He stated he was allergic to an ingredient present in the two mRNA vaccines. Rodgers was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 after which the NFL had to reveal his vaccination status to the public, as per protocol. He caught much heat after the revelation and the trolling went up a notch after he was seen on a coffee run instead of self-isolating for 10 days.

Carrie Underwood side-eyed Luke Bryan for Aaron Rodgers joke
Luke Bryan opened the CMAs and in his monologue, he assured everyone in the audience as well as viewers that they were "following all the health protocols to keep everyone safe" amid the Covid-19 pandemic. "It is so great to be here with all my fellow artists - tested and together. Or immunized? Who is it? Just playing," he quipped, making an indirect reference to Rodgers. According to Page Six, the cameras quickly switched to Carrie Underwood who was sitting in the audience who appeared to be shooting daggers at Bryan for that joke with a massive side-eye that instantly became a topic of discussion on social media.
Underwood appears to be on Rodgers' side this time after she 'liked' her husband Mike Fisher's recent Instagram post backing the Green Bay Packers quarterback. In a lengthy "I stand by Aaron Rodgers" post, Fisher writes, "I believe in the freedom to choose what we put in our bodies and the freedom of conscience. I agree with him in that the science clearly shows the vaccinated spread covid at basically the same rate as the unvaccinated." He then slammed the NFL, NHL, and other leagues for "ignoring the science and choosing to coerce and punish unvaccinated players."
Fisher continued, "If they really cared about people’s health they would have daily testing for all. But these past 2 years has clearly shown us that this is not about our health, it’s about control over our lives. I won’t stand for that. It’s time to fight for our medical freedom and I feel for those that have been fired for choosing medical freedom. People losing their jobs over a medical choice is un-American and unacceptable. We need to stand up now before it’s too late!!"
Carrie Underwood dubbed 'anti-vaxxer' for side-eyeing Luke Bryan
"@carrieunderwood is an anti-masker.. probably anti-vaxxer... she's showing her whiteness," a Twitter user claimed. "Thanks but no thanks. You and your anti-vaxxer husband have finally shown us who you really are," another user wrote in response to Underwood's tweet requesting fans to vote her as the Country Artist of 2021 at the People's Choice Awards. "@carrieunderwood is an anti-vaxxer and also a right-wing extremist. Great way to lose a fan base!" tweeted a third.
"She liked his anti-vaxxer IG post so she's supporting him," another user referenced her liking Fisher's post for Rodgers. "It’s sad to see that @carrieunderwood is essentially a Trumper. Her husband going on Joe Rogan’s podcast was a red flag but her reaction to Luke Bryan’s joke at the CMA Awards basically confirms it. Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher don’t support science," another tweet read.
