Country music duo Maddie & Tae have scored their second number one at Country Radio with their single 'Die From A Broken Heart', and amid their feelings of overwhelming joy, the sisters are receiving congratulatory messages from across the board. Their most recent supporter is none other than country music star Carrie Underwood.

Comprised of singer-songwriters and guitarists Madison Kay Marlow and Taylor Elizabeth Dye, the duo made their debut in 2014 with 'Girl in a Country Song', a criticism of the 'bro-country' trend which often has male country singers singing about attractive young women, alcohol-fuelled parties and pickup trucks. The song debuted on the Country Airplay chart at number 58 before climbing to the peak months later, becoming not just Maddie & Tae's first number one but also the second debut single from a female duo to reach the spot, the first being 'Leave the Pieces' by The Wreckers which accomplished the feat in 2006.

Their debut self-titled EP soon followed, with their debut album 'Stay Here' dropping in 2015. More successful singles and releases followed, and in 2018, Maddie & Tae dropped the song 'Die From A Broken Heart', which peaked at number 48 on the US Country Chart that year. The duo then got to open for Underwood during her 'Cry Pretty Tour 360', in 2019. And they get to see things come full circle now as their song made its way to the top of the Mediabase country radio singles chart, and they received a message of congratulations from their 'sister', Underwood.

Sharing the news the duo tweeted, "There are no words. Just leaky eyes and grateful hearts. Praise God and His beautiful plan. He has blessed us with the best team and the best fans. Gotta go, my eyes are leaking again." In response, Underwood shared, "A HUGE congratulations, sweet sisters!!! You deserve this and more! I couldn’t be happier for or more proud of you! Love you!!!"

Fans soon flocked to share how happy they were to see such positive interaction between their favorite country stars. One fan shared, "Can yall be forever tour buddies cause there’ll never be a better combo," another tweeted, "Congratulations @MaddieandTae! GIRL Power!!!" and one fan said, "Thanks for introducing me to their music Carrie,"

This is a huge moment for Maddie & Tae, who in addition to counting Underwood as a fan, have managed to score their first number-one single in six years, following a series of setbacks that included a label change. Despite being critically-acclaimed, the duo has struggled to reach greater heights as far as charting positions are concerned, but it appears they've finally broken through. And their fans couldn't be more proud. "Congrats Maddie & Tae! Long overdue but much deserved. Love all of y’all’s songs," tweeted one fan.

Another shared, "This is one of the songs I've rooted for really hard to hit #1. This song literally helped me through my breakup with my ex-boyfriend back in September so much @MaddieandTae @MaddieMarlow ty for such an amazing song."
