In a now-deleted tweet, the 29-year-old rapper Cardi B defended herself against being linked to the infamous internet personality Andrew Tate. The singer retaliated against MMA fighter Jake Shields, who claimed that Cardi was a poor role model for young girls.

On Thursday, August 18, Jake posted a message on Twitter in support of Andrew after learning that the media personality had been suspended from social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. "People are freaking out about young boys looking up to Andrew Tate but totally fine with young girls looking up to Cardi B and the Kardashians," he wrote in a Tweet.

He went on to accuse the hit rapper in a subsequent tweet: "Tate's main message is stop being lazy and making excuses and go work hard and get in shape and make money. Cardi's is go do drugs, f**k random men, and go through life as a brain dead moron."

Cardi countered Jake by responding on Twitter, "I'm married, I don't smoke weed, I don't pop pills, I don't do coke, I'm a mom of 2 kids and I do a lot of charity work. But hey let me put Cardi into it to defend a man who defends misogyny and rape." Cardi's message has currently been deleted from the platform.

Due to a recent violation of Meta's policy against harmful groups and people, Andrew has been banned from all sites, including Instagram and Facebook. A permanent suspension of Andrew's profile was announced by TikTok as a result of his sexist statements. A TikTok representative told NPR, "Misogyny is a hateful ideology that is not tolerated on TikTok. Our investigation into this content is ongoing, as we continue to remove violative accounts and videos, and pursue measures to strengthen our enforcement, including our detection models, against this type of content."

After stating that rape survivors are partially accountable for what happened to them and that women should stay in the house, Andrew, who characterized himself as a misogynist, was suspended from Twitter in 2017. He was also kicked out of the reality show competition 'Big Brother' in 2016 when footage of him assaulting a lady went viral.
