Cardi B claims Rolling Stone set her up for backlash by ranking her 'Invasion Of Privacy' album too highly
The latest episode of Angela Yee's 'Lip Service', which features Cardi B, was released on Tuesday, July 5. In the podcast, the 'WAP' singer remarked that her work deserved to be on Rolling Stone's list of viral hits, despite the criticism she received from other rappers.
The 200 Greatest Hip Hop Albums list by Rolling Stone has stirred much controversy on social media, with divisive discussions erupting in the comments sections of Twitter and Instagram posts. One choice, in particular, was Cardi B's self-titled debut album, which came in at No. 16 and was placed ahead of consensus classics like Nas' Illmatic, 2Pac's All Eyez On Me, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, and many more. On the most recent edition of Angela Yee's 'Lip Service', Cardi discussed the criticism of her multi-platinum debut album. While she recognized the reasons why people might rank those other albums higher than hers and consider them to be masterpieces, but the mother of two doesn't want her 'Invasion of Privacy' album to suffer as a result.

When it comes to her feelings on, well, anything, Cardi B isn't one to keep her mouth shut. Cardi contends that the placement of her debut album on Rolling Stone's list of the 200 best Hip-Hop albums of all time was a "setup" about a month after the publication of the list. Cardi thinks the album is "definitely a classic," despite the fact that she believes Rolling Stone had ulterior motivations when ranking Invasion of Privacy so highly. Every song on the 2018 Grammy-winning album is platinum, and she considers it to be "definitely a classic."
“You know, I understand that people feel a certain type of way,” she said. “But don’t try to disrespect me or my work or my album because your mother was listening to my shit, your bitch was driving listening to fucking ‘Be Careful.’ All y’all bitches, all y’all hoes. So it’s like, don’t even try it.” She then commented on Rolling Stones' using her to stir controversy. “Of course, they’re gonna use a bitch like me. It’s gonna start a stir… Yeah, it was, like, a setup… Rolling Stone, you trying to set me up. You got my ass dragged on a fucking Tuesday for no reason,” she continued. “I understand where y’all coming from, but at the end of the day, like, don’t drag my shit. Don’t fucking disrespect my craft.” Cardi made a comeback to the music world at the beginning of July with the hot 'Hot Shit' track, which also included Kanye West and Lil Durk on the production. Cardi posted the video, where she talked about the controversy, "What y’all think ?"
A user commented below her post, "Cardi is always right." "You among the best rappers female one actually..." another one wrote. A third user commented, "I felt like it was a great interview and a great response to this specific question. You did absolutely amazing."
