'I am tactile': Camille Vasquez shuts down 'sexist' Johnny Depp dating rumors AGAIN
Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp's lawyer, has once again debunked rumors that she is dating her client. Vasquez addressed the fan and tabloid curiosity about whether she was dating the Pirates of the Caribbean star in a recent interview with People. She explained, “I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job.”
“It’s disappointing that certain outlets kind of ran with it or said that my interactions with Johnny – who is a friend and I’ve known and represented for four-and-a-half years now – that my interactions in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional. That’s disappointing to hear,” she said in the interview.

Camille Vasquez: Johnny Depp's lawyer PROMOTED to firm partner after trial win
"I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close. But when I say we, I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny," says Vasquez. "And, I'm Cuban and Colombian. I'm tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I'm not ashamed about that." Vasquez explains that "my work is my love" and "when I love, I love really deeply."
The lawyer also stated that she had a partner, whom she describes as "very happy." She also emphasized that dating a client is unprofessional for a lawyer. She went on to say, “It’s also an unethical charge being made. It’s sexist. It’s unfortunate and it’s disappointing, but at the same time, it kind of comes with the territory. I can’t say I was all that surprised.” She continues saying "I'm Cuban and Colombian. I'm tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I'm not ashamed about that." Vasquez explains that "my work is my love" and "when I love, I love really deeply."
Meanwhile, Depp's admirers flocked to the 37-year-old lawyer after she defended him in the case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp's fans made memes depicting Vasquez as Marvel's Thor and even shared TikToks showing the couple holding hands and conversing close together, synced to romantic music. She also told Good Morning America presenter George Stephanopoulos earlier this week that being an overnight social media star after the scandal was ‘overwhelming'. “It’s been surreal. If I’m being honest, a bit overwhelming. But if I can be an inspiration to young women who want to go to law school and study and work hard, then I’m all for it,” she added.
