'This is an outrage': Caitlyn Jenner slams Nike's endorsement deal with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Caitlyn Jenner, a former Olympian decathlete and reality TV personality, has expressed her displeasure with Nike over their recent sponsorship arrangement with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Jenner is upset that Nike did not give a comparable offer to Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix.
Jenner, who transitioned in 2015, slammed the athletic wear giant in a series of Instagram postings on April 5, after Nike announced the deal through a series of snaps in which Mulvaney donned Nike trousers and a sports bra. The company's newest brand ambassador stated in a caption to her 2 million followers, “Alert the media — I’m entering my workout era”.

Jenner blasted Nike's decision on social media on April 7, saying the corporation is being "so woke" by not considering Felix for an endorsement agreement. Although congratulating Mulvaney on the contract, Jenner highlighted her dissatisfaction with Nike's past with Felix.
Felix revealed that the business handed her a 70% wage reduction and refused her requests for maternity leave after she became pregnant in 2017. Felix's contract with Nike lapsed as a consequence, and she eventually joined Athleta. Jenner feels Nike could have been more inclusive with Felix rather than merely dumping money on Mulvaney.
Jenner is genuinely disappointed
Jenner wrote, "We can be inclusive but not at the expense of the mass majority of people, and have some decency while being inclusive. This is an outrage". Jenner’s annoyance originates from her appreciation for Nike founder Phil Knight and the brand's legendary place in American society. She feels that Nike's decision to favor Mulvaney over Felix is a negative representation of the company's principles.
It's unknown how much Mulvaney is receiving from the agreement, but her over two million Instagram followers imply she earned a sizable sum. Jenner is hardly the only Olympian who has expressed dissatisfaction with Nike's choice. Silver medalist Sharron Davies has called for a Nike boycott, calling the company's action a "kick in the teeth" to women.
Mulvaney's business decisions have also recently come under criticism. Kid Rock, a musician, shot beer cans in fury as a result of her collaboration with Bud Light. Nike has yet to reply to Jenner's or other Olympians' criticism.
Jenner’s call
Kylie and Kendall Jenner are the children of Jenner and Kris Jenner. Jenner has four further children from prior marriages. In the show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’, Jenner revealed it was her personal call to transition and no outward influence. She appeared in the documentary series ‘I Am Cait’ in 2015, which explored her transition.
Jenner ran unsuccessfully for governor of California last year, finishing 13th among candidates attempting to unseat Gavin Newsom in a special recall election. Although Jenner has become a champion for transgender Individuals, leftists have chastised her for supporting Republican viewpoints on contentious identity issues.
