'The couple has been seeing each other'
The 33-year-old singer was with her ex Joe Alwyn for six years while Alonso and his former girlfriend Andrea Schlager had a relationship of two years. However, after their respective breakups, the speculation about them dating each other was started by a celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi, which shared, “A couple of Spanish magazines have been posting about TS [Swift] and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso. According to them, the couple has been seeing each other for a week now. Nothing serious tho since they are both recently single,” as per The Sun.
Swift has not said anything yet about the rumors but the 41-year-old Spanish racing driver preferred not to be tight-lipped that much. Recently, F1 reporter Will Buxton reportedly told Alonso, “I have to ask this one because if I don't I'll just be leaving a 'Blank Space' and I know it is potentially your 'Love Story' and nobody else's, but there have been rumors over the break!”
'I prefer not to comment on it
He answered, “It's so complicated [the] Baku format already! I'm sure you have a lot of questions.” Besides, the winner of the series' World Drivers' Championship told Marca, “I usually keep my personal and professional life apart. I prefer not to comment on it.”
Apart from this, Alonso posted a video to his TikTok account, where he featured himself while Swift’s ‘Karma’ played in the background. Many F1 commentators took the light of the apparent dating thing as Karun Chandhok of Sky Sport said on Friday, April 28, “Fernando Alonso's found a bit of blank space ahead of him.” Sky Sports’ Rachel Brookes added, “Fernando, it's been an interesting few weeks for you during this break, I knew you were trouble!” referring to the songwriter’s song ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’.
'He is way too cultured'
Meanwhile, it seems people online are not thrilled to see Alonso and Swift together as a user tweeted, “I never thought I’d see the day that taylor swift and fernando alonso were rumored to be dating.” The second user shared, “Taylor Swift's album's called Anti Hero Meanwhile Fernando Alonso.” The third user stated, “He is way to cultured and sophisticated for her.” The fourth user remarked, “My dad just went ‘WHAT?! Taylor Swift and Fernando Alonso are dating??’ oh free me from this hell.”
