Korean music bodies are making big moves this year. If reports are to be believed Big Hit Entertainment, which takes care of seven-member boy band BTS, is eyeing an acquisition of KOZ Entertainment which is headed by singer Zico. Big Hit Entertainment is already raking-in the praises after BTS scored their very first No 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. If gossip is to be believed, Big Hit Entertainment started making moves earlier this year and is focusing to crack the deal at the earliest.

According to the publication Korean boo, the music officials stated, “Bang Si Hyuk (who runs Big Hit Entertainment) has been actively discussing the acquisition with KOZ and so far things have been going in a positive direction.” The publication also spoke about Big Hit Entertainment’s reaction to the news. “We are open to various opportunities. There hasn’t been a confirmed decision yet.”

Reacting to this news, several fans took to Twitter and shared their opinions. One Twitter user said, “First of all, he’s not in active service, meaning monitoring what’s going on in the company isn’t really a problem. And second of all there’s only one artist under koz. And third of all it’s only been less than 2 years since koz started, Zico won’t live his life in the service.”

Another user wrote, “Ok don’t call me problematic for having an opinion about the situation that isn’t the same as yours. All of those armys are replying to me simply because I said that it wouldn’t necessarily be a good decision.”

Trying to solve the mystery, a fan stated, “That explains why Zico is one of the producers in I-Land. It all makes sense now. What about Rain? Thinking face.”

Another user posted, “I knew something is up when Zico is one of the producers in I-Land. Tbh I like Zico personally off-camera when he first came in in the show. This is going to be interesting.”

Zico, a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer, is known for his crossover skills in K-pop and hip-hop. His current net worth stands between $1 million and $5 million dollars. Talking about acquisitions, Big Hit Entertainment had earlier occupied Source Music, Pledis Entertainment and a few other labels. Interestingly, Bang Si-hyuk has earlier worked with Zico as a judge on Mnet survival program I-LAND and the former has also praised the latter’s work. It will be interesting to see what finally happens to the deal.
