BTS added yet another feather to their cap as member Taehyung's song 'Sweet Night' reaches #1 on iTunes in 103 countries worldwide and sets a new record for the song with the most number ones on iTunes in history by a soloist. Ecstatic fans began trending #FirstSoloistV to congratulate the singer on accomplishing the feat.

Amid a stream of congratulatory messages, with one fan stating, "What great news to wake up to! Congratulations Tae!" fans also marveled at the news that "Kim Taehyung is the First and Only Soloist to do so" in reference to another record achievement for the track: 'Sweet Night' is the first track by a male solo artiste to hit number one on iTunes in over a hundred countries.

This puts Taehyung in the ranks of only two other artistes/groups to have achieved this: Adele in 2015 and Taehyung's own group, BTS, in 2020. Another fan shared, "The way Kim Taehyung just broke a 5-year record with a self-composed and produced song!! Ahh 'Sweet Night' is such a beautiful song! Well deserved."

'Sweet Night' was released as part of the original soundtrack for the television show 'Itaewon Class'. Taehyung has put out solo tracks before. Songs like 'Scenery' and 'Winter Bear' were available for free on SoundCloud while other tracks like 'Singularity' were released as part of BTS' albums. This makes 'Sweet Night' Taehyung's first track as a soloist.

Apart from making global history, the song also shot to the top of the Korean Melon real-time charts and landed at number two on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart, the highest by a Korean soloist on the chart thus far. The track has already become one of the most beloved among the BTS fandom.

As one fan shared, 'Sweet Night is the epitome of what Taehyung represents. This song is literally genius in song form and I'm so proud that it broke this amazing record. So proud of Tae and army." Fans continued to congratulate the singer with messages like, "Congratulations to my baby bear who did soso well / We’re proud of you taehyungie!!!" as well as, "Kim Legend Taehyung did this omggg / I'm so freaking happy and proud rn / I just hope he sees this." Many also declared that "Kim Taehyung is unbeatable" and celebrated with tweets like "KIM TAEHYUNG WORLD DOMINATION."
